  • Patent number: 5947883
Abstract: A device for transferring slips of paper from a first rotationally-driven cylinder to a second rotationally-driven cylinder. Each cylinder has a pincers-like gripper including a controlled, pivotal jaw that has the form of a blade cooperating with a rigid jaw of the same cylinder. The pivotal jaw also operates as a controlled insertion blade that slides the slips of paper into the opened gripper of the other cylinder. The structural design of the device is simplified due to the fact that the pivotal blade-shaped jaw of each cylinder is provided with a second control that can be activated on command which deactivates the control of the pincers movement of the jaw and controls the jaw in such a way that it functions as the insertion blade.

  • Patent number: 5779854
Abstract: An adhesive application device includes an adhesive chamber for containing adhesive, an adhesive roll which dips partially into the adhesive, and an adhesive application roll or block roll for applying glue onto a workpiece guided past the block roll by a clamping device. In the absence of a workpiece, a turning axis of the block roll is swung away from the clamping device on an eccentric axis which does not coincide with the rotational axis of the adhesive roll. The turning axis of a block cylinder or the turning axis of an adhesive roll is guided so as to be movable in such a manner that the distance of the block roll from the adhesive roll remains constant.

  • Patent number: 5588944
Abstract: The invention concerns an apparatus for welding the tubular sections of sacks, bags or the like, having a rotating drum and with welding stations arranged on the periphery of the drum which rotate, fixed in position, with the drum, wherein the welding stations are arranged laterally each on one end side of the drum. To ensure a crease-free processing of the tubular sections to be welded, grippers that can be caused to open and close are arranged on the drum in individual welding stations, for the seizing, holding and release of the tubular sections. A movable welding jaw of the welding station forms a flat bearing surface for the zone of the tubular section to be welded, while the drum itself, has a cylindrical peripheral surface.

  • Patent number: 5518103
Abstract: An apparatus for rotating workpieces fed in a laid flat position, has a pair of conveyor belts which fixes the respective workpiece eccentrically at one point and moves it forward, and at least one carrier belt that runs parallel to the pair of conveyor belts. To permit a reliable introduction of the rotational movement, at least one suction belt is arranged between the pair of conveyor belts and the carrier belt, using which a part of the workpiece that is spaced from the fixed point can be suctionally attracted.

  • Patent number: 5356221
Abstract: A carrying handle assembly for bags having a flat bottom and more particularly for bags having a cross or block bottom, including two strips of material bent into an L-shape cross section in their position of use, of which the one portion of each strip extending generally in a single plane is bonded with the bottom of the bag and the other portion of each strip, which are arranged alongside of each other, are provided with a carrying handle part. In order to prevent the carrying handle part from being torn out from between the portions of the strips of material, even when subjected to a heavy load, the carrying handle part includes a strip bent into the form of a letter U, having two limbs interconnected by a crosspiece, whose limbs are bonded between and to the superposed portions of the strips of material, which are themselves bonded together.
