  • Publication number: 20140231558
Abstract: The invention relates to a shredder/document shredder for sheet-shaped material, such as paper and material of the like or similar data storage media, having a thickness sensor which protrudes at least partially into a receiving slot. According to the invention, the thickness sensor does not change its position if too much material to be shredded (for example, paper) passes into the receiving slot, but rather pivots about its rotational axis as a result of the friction with the material. A switch is actuated by way of the pivoting movement, as a result of which the electric drive of the shredder is interrupted.

  • Patent number: 8783173
Abstract: An apparatus for compressing empty containers, in particular of beverage bottles or beverage cans made out of plastic, in particular out of polyethylene terephthalate PET, or tin plate. The apparatus has a cutting and pressing unit as well as means for driving and for controlling the cutting and pressing unit, wherein the cutting and pressing unit contains at least two cooperating, oppositely rotating rollers disposed at a distance relative to each other with respect to their rotation axes, wherein each roller has several disks in each case disposed towards each other with an axial distance (free space). According to a special further development it is proposed that at least in the operating region of the two rollers there are disposed axially next to each other a first working region for a compressing of containers made out of plastic and a second working region for a compressing of containers made out of metal.

  • Publication number: 20140196616
Abstract: A pressure roller for an apparatus for compaction of empty (disposable) hollow bodies (beverage containers), particularly plastic bottles or tin cans, having at least one rotating roller that is disposed at a distance from a counter-bearing, forming a gap, has an essentially cylindrical mantle surface that possesses multiple profiled partial regions of the same type and the same width in its working region, following one another in the axial direction. These profiled partial regions are separated from one another, in each instance, by a circumferential recess. Each of these profiled partial regions—viewed axially—has multiple sections that follow one another. At least one cam-shaped projection that projects radially away from the mantle surface is disposed in one of these sections.

  • Publication number: 20130200184
Abstract: A document shredder with a motor, a cutting unit, and a motor control, wherein the motor control may start, stop and reverse the motor. The motor control may limit the maximally allowed load of the motor to a predetermined load limit value. In case the motor reaches the maximally allowed load limit value, the load limit value may be increased for a predetermined time, either manually or automatically. In this way a short overload does not lead to a paper jam and the shredder does not have to be reversed, which may cause a paper mess in the workplace. The motor may be a direct current motor and/or a series motor, so that the load limit value may be defined by a maximally allowable motor current.
