  • Patent number: 7036272
Abstract: A plant container consisting of decayable and ecologically safe materials is collapsible and assembled from its parts consisting of a pre-cut casing (1) and a bottom (2) made of dimensionally stable wire mesh or biologically degradable plastic and a decayable organic material attached thereto. The plant container can be inexpensively transported and easily assembled just before it is put to use. It is permeable to water and air, prevents the accumulation of wetness, root rot and mildew, hinders the formation of spiraling roots and promotes a safe growth of the plant. The plant container is robust and dimensionally stable and therefore suited for use with planting machines.

  • Publication number: 20040025435
Abstract: The invention is for a plant container consisting of decayable and ecologically safe materials. The plant container is collapsible and assembled from its parts consisting of a pre-cut casing (1) and a bottom (2) using known materials. The casing (1) and the bottom (2) are made of dimensionally stable wire mesh or biologically degradable plastic. The casing (1) and the bottom (2) are assembled with a decayable organic material which is attached to the dimensionally stable wire mesh or biologically degradable plastic.

  • Patent number: 6092331
Abstract: Planting containers of substantial sizes are made by rolling up previously prepared mats of natural fibers that are biodegradable and contain a growing medium in the mats. A rolled-up coil of such mats is held together by stitching or netting or wire mesh or the like. The mats are rolled onto a removable core. Once the coil is finished and the core is removed, the resulting space inside the coil will be closed at the bottom by a plug also of biodegradable material.

  • Patent number: 5077935
Abstract: A cover for covering cultures so as to improve soil conditions and plant growth includes a first, top layer of biological material such as straw, bark, peat, wood shavings, etc., a lower layer of UV-degradable synthetic material sewn to the first layer to thereby establish stitch holes which are water permeable, and another perforated layer of synthetic material e.g. a fleece is welded or bonded to said lowest layer, such that its perforations do not optically align with the stitch holes, but water can flow in between the two synthetic layers.
