  • Patent number: 12202309
Abstract: A method for changing a ride height position of a motor vehicle comprises measuring a respective relative distance of a vehicle superstructure from corresponding wheels, with spring travel sensors and transmitting a respective spring travel signal to an electronic open-loop and closed-loop control device of the motor vehicle. The spring travel signals pass through a frequency filtering in the electronic open-loop and closed-loop control device The frequency filtering initially comprising a bandpass filtering which splits the spring travel signal into a signal component excited by the wheel and a signal component excited by the vehicle superstructure. The signal component excited by the vehicle superstructure is filtered out, the frequency filtering then comprising an absolute value conversion of the bandpass-filtered spring travel signal and subsequently a low-pass filtering.

  • Patent number: 6000259
Abstract: A finishing train for continuously cast strip material and a method of operating the finiching train, wherein an edging stand is arranged in front of the finishing train for preventing strip material cracks occurring during the reduction of the strip thickness at the strip edges, wherein position control circuits are arranged in front of the adjusting device of the edging stand. The arrangement includes a superimposed pressure control circuit (edging degree monitoring circuit) which responds to the adjusting force of the edging stand and the position thereof, and a load limiting control unit which responds to adjusting forces of the grooved rolls of the edging stand exceeding permissible values and/or to loads of the drive motors of the grooved rolls exceeding permissible values, for increasing the predetermined gap width and/or reducing the desired pressure of the adjusting device of the edging stand.

  • Patent number: 5077997
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for regulating the thickness of rolled strip utilizing the gauge meter method and for compensating irregularities caused by roll eccentricities, wherein the size of the roll gap, the rolling force and the stand modulus are taken into consideration. The method includes separating a disturbance signal due to the eccentricities of rolls from an actual rolling force signal, identifying the disturbance signal obtained in this manner by determining its transmission function, subsequently computing the regulating parameters in dependence upon the determined disturbance signal transmission function and with the aid of a regulating synthesis method. A compensation signal is determined from the disturbance signal and the corresponding regulating parameters in an adaptive regulator for compensating the irregularities due to eccentricities. The compensation signal is introduced in a position regulating circuit.

  • Patent number: 4895057
Abstract: The known turn broaching of crankshaft main bearings is not suitable for broaching crankshaft bearing pins for the connecting rods because that would require locating the rotational axis of the crankshaft in the connecting rod bearing pins, whereby the crankshaft would rotate eccentrically. The resulting unbalances prevent driving the crankshaft with the r.p.m. required for the turn broaching operation. To avoid this problem a broaching lathe for the rotational or turn broaching of crankshaft connecting rod bearing pins is equipped with a steady rest including a rotating support device which permits mounting the crankshaft in the lathe in such a way that the rotational axis coincides with the axis of the connecting rod bearings of the crankshaft.

  • Patent number: 4799839
Abstract: Work pieces, especially of rotational symmetry, are machined in a rotary broaching operation. The machine tool for this purpose has a tool carrier carrying a plurality of cutting edges arranged on a curved path in a radial work piece plane. In order to reduce down-time and to simplify the construction of the broaching apparatus, the insertion of a work piece blank into the apparatus and the removal of a finished work piece from the apparatus are preferably performed without interrupting the motions of a tool carrier. For this purpose the tool carrier is provided with a zone which is free of cutting tool edges. This tool free zone of the tool carrier is located downstream of the last cutting edge as viewed in the rotational direction of the tool carrier. This feature avoids the need for a return stroke of the tool carrier. Accordingly, respective return slides and return controls are also obviated.

  • Patent number: 4077286
Abstract: A vertical boring and turning mill has a base and a rotatable table supported on the base as well as an upright frame carrying a horizontal cross beam, which in turn carries a plurality of horizontally adjustable slides or carriages. Each slide or carriage supports a vertically adjustable tool slide or support. The vertical carriages of at least two tool supports are coupled to each other in such a manner that at least two supports have a common drive and control mechanism, whereby substantial savings are achieved.
