  • Patent number: 5067121
Abstract: Optical disc player having a frame (61), a turntable (17) including a centering mandrel (17c) and a supporting surface (17b) for a disc (3), a disc-pressure member (191) for pressing the disc onto the turntable in a clamping position, and a disc-loading device (151). The loading device comprises a holder (153) which is adapted to receive, in an initial position, a tray (23) having a carrying surface (29) for the disc. The holder can perform a loading movement to move the tray to and deposit the disc on the turntable and separate the disc from the tray, and an unloading movement to return the disc to the initial position. At opposite sides of the holder the loading device further comprises pivotal elements (155, 156) which are pivotally connected to the frame and which are movably connected to the holder.

  • Patent number: 4766586
Abstract: A disc-record player comprises a deck plate (1) which carries a rotatable turntable (2) and a pivotable pick-up arm (4). This arm is rigidly connected to a pick-up arm support (24). In the turntable two depressible sensing pins (38,39) are arranged. Further, a control device is provided which comprises inter alia a drive element (20) for controlling the pivotal movement of the pick-up arm (4) and which can be coupled to the pick-up arm support (24). There is also provided a selection element (27) which can be set selectively to two operative positions and which carries first and second positioning projections (29a, 29c). The device also comprises a starting element (17). A positioning element (32) which cooperates with the selection element (27) is provided with two positioning portions (34, 35) against which the sensing pin (38, 39) abuts, after which the selection element (27) is actuated.

  • Patent number: 4766587
Abstract: An electrical apparatus such as a disc-record player, comprises a mounting device for a drive motor (7). The motor housing (6) is resiliently suspended on fixed motor supports (4) in the housing (1) of the apparatus so as to be in a radial direction with respect to the motor axis (7a). For this purpose suspension rings (11) of an elastic and vibration-dampening material are fitted around mounting elements (10) on the motor housing (6) and around the motor supports (4). The motor housing (6) carries stop portions (13) which in the event of axial movement of the motor housing (6) abut against fixed abutment surfaces (14) inside the housing (1) to limit said movement. Positioning means (15,20) are provided, which position said stop portions (13) and abutment surfaces (14) in such a way relative to each other after turning of the motor housing (6) and stretching of the suspension rings (11) that the stop portions (13) can move freely along the abutment surfaces (14) in an axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4701903
Abstract: A control device having a reciprocable drive element connected to a record command disc, a pick-up arm set down position selection member, and a guide element pivotally connected to the drive element for engaging a coupling element on a pick-up arm base to guide the pick-up arm pivoting toward the turntable. The guide element is pivotable with respect to the drive element between two stable positions. In the first stable position during forward movement of the drive element, the guide element passes an abutment on the pick-up arm base, and is then pivoted to the second stable position. During a turn movement of the drive element, the guide element first pivots the pick-up arm into abutment with a set-down position selection surface, and the guide element then pivots out of engagement with the abutment. Upon completion of the drive element return movement, the guide element is pivoted into the first stable position.

  • Patent number: 4694449
Abstract: A lifting device, for moving a pick-up arm upwards and downwards, has a lift rod guided by a guide element formed integrally with the deck plate. The lift rod has a pair of adjoining planar walls intersecting each other at an angle, and engaging a corresponding pair of guide walls of the guide element. A highly viscous damping material is arranged between these engaging walls. An oblique compression spring presses the lift rod downward and sideways into engagement with the guide walls, the spring force being directed in a plane which bisects the angle formed by the lift rod walls.

  • Patent number: 4682319
Abstract: A housing has a front opening through which a drawer is movable outwardly, and a pivotal front cover covering a portion of the opening above the drawer. Movement of the drawer pivots the cover from an open to a closed position, in the open position the cover being out of the way, close to a top wall of the housing. The cover rests on edges of a side portion extending from the front portion of the cover and engaging a guide edge on the drawer. A control lever, pivoted on a side wall of the housing, and having an end pivotally connected to the cover side portion, and has a short arm which is engaged by projections on the drawer to pivot the lever as the drawer is moved, and thus pivot the front cover.

  • Patent number: 4600247
Abstract: The cover for an open front portion of a housing is slidable rearward to expose the open front portion, and has a pivotal front wall. The front wall has side walls connected to it, forming a front section, and is coupled to the housing and the rest of the cover such that the front section pivots to bring the front wall into a horizontal position during the first part of the rearward sliding movement.

  • Patent number: 4539672
Abstract: The tone arm (13) of a record player is carried by a carriage (14) which is movable along a motor-driven rotating spindle (6) extending tangentially with respect to the axis of the turntable (10). For supporting it on the spindle the carriage has two bearings (15 and 16) which are spaced from each other in the axial direction of the spindle and each of which has a bearing surface which engages the spindle at only the upper part of the circumference of the spindle. This arrangement permits slight pivotal movements of the carriage relative the spindle about axes transverse to the spindle to compensate for the forces which occur during accelerations of the tone arm, as when the stylus enters the lead-out groove. The tone arm is connected to a part (20) of the carriage which is made of a vibration-damping material.

  • Patent number: 4524438
Abstract: In a record player comprising a housing and a hinged dust cover, a hinge device is formed by a hinge wall and an abutment which are integral with the housing and spaced from each other. An end portion of a first limb of a hinge coil spring acts against the abutment to urge turns of the hinge spring against the hinge wall. A second limb of the hinge spring projects through a slot in the housing and is coupled directly to the dust cover.
