Wi-Fi connectivity of a mobile access point (MAP) configured for deployment within a vehicle may be managed, with the managing including applying, in one or both of the mobile access point (MAP) and a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server, one or more timing measures for shortening an amount of time needed to obtain a DHCP lease associated with at least one of a plurality of Wi-Fi access points in the network, and one or more optimization measures for optimizing at least one parameter used by the mobile access point (MAP) to secure DHCP lease for connecting to a particular Wi-Fi access point from the plurality of Wi-Fi access points.
