  • Publication number: 20060036160
Abstract: A method of examining a patient is provided. The method includes aligning a patient table with a first examination axis, and rotating the patient table around a substantially fixed pivot axis from the first examination axis to a second examination axis using a predetermined angular velocity profile.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 26, 2004
    Publication date: February 16, 2006
Inventors: Hernan Altman, Leonid Yakubovsky, Sergio Steinfeld
  • Publication number: 20050207526
Abstract: A method of examining a patient is provided. The method includes aligning a patient table in an opening of a gantry unit that includes a CZT photon detector and an x-ray source, imaging a patient utilizing a first imaging modality during a first portion of a scan using the CZT detector, and imaging a patient utilizing a second imaging modality during a second portion of the scan using the CZT detector wherein the second imaging modality is different than the first imaging modality.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: July 21, 2005
    Inventor: Hernan Altman
  • Publication number: 20050152492
Abstract: A method of examining a patient is provided. The method includes aligning a patient table with a first examination axis, imaging a patient utilizing a first imaging modality while the patient is oriented along the first examination axis, aligning a patient table with a second examination axis, the second examination axis being different than the first examination axis, and imaging a patient utilizing a second separate imaging modality while the patient is oriented along the second examination axis.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20030212320
Abstract: A method of determining linear and angular displacements of a first coordinate system of a field of view of a first imaging system relative to a second a coordinate system of a field of view of a second imaging system, the method comprising: providing a phantom having a plurality of fiducial regions that can be imaged by both imaging systems; acquiring first and second images of the phantom with the first and second imaging systems wherein spatial coordinates of features in the first and second images reference the first and second coordinate systems respectively; determining positions of a plurality of features of the fiducials in the first image and spatial coordinates of the same features in the second image; and using the coordinates to determine the linear and angular displacements.
