  • Patent number: 9182528
Abstract: The subject of the present disclosure is a multilayer nanoparticular, mesoporous structure that has properties of a Bragg reflector or of a unidimensional photonic crystal in the ultraviolet, visible and infrared ranges close to the electromagnetic spectrum. The unidimensional photonic crystal is formed by laminae with different indices of refraction and of a controlled size, made up of nanoparticles, which can be deposited on different types of substrates using a simple and reliable method. The periodic alternating of laminae with different indices of refraction gives rise to a high reflection factor which can easily be observed with the naked eye and can be measured with a spectrophotometer. In contrast to other, dense, reflective structures, the mesoporous structure of this reflector allows the passage of liquids.

  • Publication number: 20120019914
Abstract: The main object of the present invention is a method for obtaining a flexible Bragg mirror (1?) from a photonic crystal consisting of a rigid porous multilayer (1), the method comprising filling with a polymer the pores of the porous multilayer (1) to provide it with mechanical stability.

  • Publication number: 20110149400
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing multilayers formed by thin mesoporous films of oxides or hybrid organic/inorganic materials by means of a combination of sol-gel methods, self-assembly of surfactants and selective functionalization of the surfaces of the pores. Each of the constituent layers has a chemical composition, thickness, and index of refraction.
