In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include an apparatus, which may be implemented on a system, to make nail polish from one or more ink colors. The apparatus can include an ink retention unit configured to hold or store one or more ink storage containers and/or an ink deposit component and mechanically coupled to the ink retention unit. In one embodiment, the ink deposit component includes an actuator to control or regulate ink that is released from the ink retention unit.
