  • Patent number: 9810720
Abstract: An improved system and method for monitoring power lines without connecting to ground is disclosed herein. An improved sensory assembly can comprise a first end, a second end, a voltage sensor, a current sensor, an analog to digital converter, and a sensory transceiver. The first end can be electrically connectable to a first phase of a power line. The second end can be electrically connectable to a second phase of the power line. The voltage sensor can be capable of measuring a voltage between the first phase and the second phase. The current sensor can be magnetically coupled to the power line. The analog to digital converter can be capable of receiving a first signal from the voltage sensor, and can be capable of receiving a second signal from the current sensor.

  • Patent number: 9746498
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring power lines comprises a plurality of sensory assemblies each connected to a phase of a power line and comprising a sensory transceiver that transmits a signal comprising a digital representation of a voltage wave and a current wave on a single phase of a power line. A common assembly comprising a common transceiver receiving the signal from each sensory transceiver and a microprocessor. A precision timing device directs the common transceiver to send signals to each of the sensory assemblies to synchronize the sensory assembly reading on a phase of a power line. The microprocessor for analyzing the timed signals synchronized for a plurality of phases by determining the net real time sum of the current of the plurality of phases to determine ground or neutral current and for determining instantaneous voltage between any two phases.

  • Publication number: 20140207399
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring power lines is disclosed herein. Specifically, the system for monitoring power lines can comprise a sensory assembly connected to each phase of a power line. The sensory assembly can comprise a sensory transceiver that broadcasts a signal comprising a digital representation of a voltage wave and a current wave on a single phase of a power line. The system can also comprise a common assembly comprising a common transceiver receiving the signal from the sensory transceiver. Furthermore, the system can comprise a microprocessor, which analyzes the signal and a precision timing device that directs the common transceiver to send signals, which synchronize the sensory assembly readings on a phase of a power line, back to the sensory assembly.

  • Patent number: 4569220
Abstract: A flow prover with seal monitor includes a housing with a cylinder and a piston-like displacer sealingly conveyed along the cylinder by the fluid flow to be measured. The displacer includes at least one rod that extends telescopically through the housing. A pair of conduits may be arranged concentrically within the rod, one in communication with a volume between a pair of seals whose integrity is to be monitored and the other in communication with the fluid in the housing. The conduits each communicate as well with a pressure sensor located outside of the housing. The sensor may be mounted on the rod to sense the absence of a pressure differential between the conduits, which indicates a seal failure. The sensor may provide an indication, which may be detected at the end of a proving cycle, that the seal integrity was maintained throughout the proving cycle.
