  • Patent number: 6451199
Abstract: For transforming hydrocarbons into aromatic compounds, the reaction is conducted on a homogeneous bed of catalyst particles, said catalyst comprising at least one amorphous matrix, at least one noble metal, at least two additional metals M1 and M2 and at least one halogen, and in which, for a catalyst particle, Cpt is the local concentration of platinum; CM1 is the local concentration of additional metal M1; CM2 is the local concentration of additional metal M2; in which the standard deviation of the distribution of the local ratios of the concentrations of the additional metals, CM1/CM2, measured along the particle diameter, is better than 25% relative.

  • Patent number: 6337428
Abstract: A process for the catalytic conversion of hydrocarbons, in particular for the oligomerization of olefins wherein the catalyst comprises a zeolite which is at least partially in its acid form. The zeolite is a NU-86 zeolite comprising silicon and at least one element T selected from the group formed by aluminum, iron, gallium and boron, preferably aluminum, characterized in that element T has been extracted from the framework, and in that it has a global Si/T atomic ratio of more than about 20. Element T is extracted from the zeolitic framework (or network) by means of at least one heat treatment, optionally carried out in the presence of steam, followed by at least one acid attack using at least one solution of a mineral or organic acid, or by direct acid attack.

  • Publication number: 20020002319
Abstract: A process for isomerising a feed comprising normal paraffins containing 5 to 8 carbon atoms per molecule as a major portion in the presence of hydrogen is characterized in that the sum of the amounts of normal paraffins containing 7 and 8 carbon atoms per molecule contained in the feed is in the range 2% to 90% by weight with respect to the feed, and in that said feed is treated in at least one reaction zone containing at least one catalyst in a fixed bed, said catalyst comprising a support, at least one halogen and at least one group VIII metal, the reaction being carried out at a temperature in the range 30° C. to 150° C.

  • Patent number: 6297418
Abstract: The invention concerns a catalyst containing at least one halogen, at least one metal from group VIII and a formed support comprising gamma alumina and optionally eta alumina, the catalyst being characterized in that the smallest average dimension of said support is in the range 0.8 mm to 2 mm and in that the halogen content is in the range 4.5% to 15% by weight. The invention also concerns the preparation of said catalyst, preferably with chlorination (in the case where the halogen is chlorine) in the presence of CCl4 or CHCl3. The invention also concerns the use of the catalyst for the isomerisation of normal C4-C6 paraffins.
