  • Publication number: 20240010044
Abstract: In an embodiment, a vehicle cabin air quality management system and method includes providing a vehicle, a GPS device in the vehicle, an air recirculation flap in the vehicle configured to control admission and recirculation of air into the vehicle, and a module for controlling the air recirculation flap. The method includes providing an Internet-connected server storing an air quality map. The method includes the vehicle moving through locations, each of the locations associated with a respective timestamp, calculating a projected path for the vehicle based on a recent set of the locations, calculating air quality indices along the projected path using the air quality map, calculating a flap position recommendation based on at least a one of the air quality indices, and the module determining a recirculation flap position of the air recirculation flap from at least the flap position recommendation.

  • Patent number: 10887722
Abstract: A traffic pollution mapper detects pollution variations and generates mapping information for establishing one or more pollution maps. The traffic pollution mapper includes one or more pollution detectors, installed on vehicles, that detect pollution and generate pollution information from the same as the vehicles travel through traffic. This pollution information may be combined with location information and a timestamp to create mapping information that is stored on a server. The mapping information may be queried by one or more client devices in various formats, including as a pollution map. The traffic pollution mapper may utilize various sensors to detect pollution, including automotive AQSs that provide binary open and close signals.

  • Patent number: 10317226
Abstract: A pollution mapping system and method utilizes relative pollution data or pollution variations to provide pollution maps, history, and other information relating to the same. The system may comprise a central server that receives pollution data for individual pollution events, and process the pollution data to generate information such as pollution maps, history, or notifications. Pollution data will be received from a multitude of sensors, typically as the sensors travel through traffic, and includes at least pollution variation amplitude, detection location, and detection time.

  • Patent number: 10112618
Abstract: A traffic pollution indicator mounts to an air vent of a car or other vehicle to detect pollution and present pollution information to passengers. The traffic pollution indicator includes one or more sensors for detecting pollution, one or more microcontrollers and one or more communication devices to communicate with one or more display devices. Pollution is typically detected as a change in pollution levels by the traffic pollution indicator. Various display devices or a screen of the traffic pollution indicator present sensor information, in various visual representations, to passengers.
