  • Publication number: 20230036914
Abstract: A proning device includes a conformable structure that adapts to the shape of a subject, surrounded by a shell that imparts a substantially elliptical cross-sectional shape to an exterior of the device to facilitate rotation of the subject within the device when the device is wrapped around the subject. A low-friction interface may also be provided to further facilitate rotation of the subject. The device advantageously reduces staffing needs for proning a subject while facilitating extended proning and periodic re-orientation of the subject. Also disclosed herein are methods for making and using such a proning device.

  • Publication number: 20220361871
Abstract: Needle drivers and methods of the present disclosure are generally directed at intracorporeal suture tying using a winding technique. For example, a needle driver may include an elongate shaft having a magnet section between a proximal section and a distal section. A clamp coupled to the distal section may grasp a first end portion of a suture. A needle coupled to a second end portion of the suture may be magnetically secured to the magnet section, and the magnet section may then be rotated to form a loop in the suture. Forming a knot in the suture may include moving the loop over the first end portion of the suture grasped in the clamp. As compared to other intracorporeal suture tying techniques, intracorporeal knot tying carried out using the needle drivers and methods of the present disclosure may reduce the time and complexity associated with laparoscopic procedures.

  • Publication number: 20220330935
Abstract: The fastener assemblies, systems, and methods of the present disclosure are generally directed to a first T-fastener and a second T-fastener securable to one another through the use of a suture extending therebetween and deliverable to an anatomical location using a minimally invasive technique. For example, a cannula of a needle assembly may be percutaneously deliverable to a treatment site and, through actuation of a hub of the needle assembly, the first T-fastener and the second T-fastener may be deliverable relative to biological tissue to be fastened at the treatment site. The suture may intracorporeally fasten the first T-fastener and the second T-fastener relative to one another for robust securement biological tissue therebetween. As compared to securement using external fixation, the fastener assemblies, systems, and methods of the present disclosure may facilitate intracorporeally fastening tissue while reducing or eliminating certain requirements associated with postoperative care.

  • Publication number: 20210204994
Abstract: An electrocautery device with a retractable suction tube is described. The electrocautery device includes a suction tube assembly that can move between an extended or retracted position using vacuum force generated by a suction source. In some embodiments, the suction tube assembly automatically locks into the extended position when extended such that axial force cannot cause the suction tube assembly to retract. The device may be suitable for use in laparoscopic procedures. The suction tube may be coaxially aligned with the electrocautery tip.

  • Patent number: 8948423
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a micro speaker capable of having a high-pitched sound speaker unit and a low-pitched sound speaker unit and allowing the respective speaker units to clearly reproduce an inherent sound without interference. The micro speaker for converting an electrical signal into an acoustic signal includes: a high-pitched sound speaker unit disposed in an outer case; and a low-pitched sound speaker unit disposed in the outer case together with the high-pitched sound speaker unit, wherein the high-pitched sound speaker unit and the low-pitched sound speaker unit are disposed in the outer case so that a high-pitched sound vibrating plate of the high-pitched sound speaker unit and a low-pitched sound vibrating plate of the low-pitched sound speaker unit have directions opposite to each other.

  • Publication number: 20080192976
Abstract: A micro speaker including a housing, a ring, a vibration film, a coil, a magnet, a magnetism conductor and a circuit board is provided. The housing forms the shape of the micro speaker. The ring is disposed inside the housing. The vibration film is supported by the ring. The coil is disposed on the vibration film. The magnet is disposed on the ring. The magnetism conductor is disposed on the magnet. The circuit board is disposed on the magnetism conductor. The housing has an involuted portion on an edge of the housing near the circuit board or the ring, and the involuted portion is used to press against the circuit board or the ring. In this invention, the amount of glue used during the assembling of the components is minimized, and the output quality of the speaker is improved.
