  • Publication number: 20220344702
Abstract: A multi-phase electrolyte film includes a first phase comprising a metal oxide, wherein the metal oxide is amorphous, crystalline, or a glass; and a second phase comprising a lithium salt having a decomposition temperature in air of greater than 200° C. or a lithium halide. The first phase is dispersed in the second phase and has an average particle size of 5 to 200 nanometers. Methods for the manufacture of the electrolyte film are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10283827
Abstract: An electrochemical cell includes: a positive current collector in which an injection part, an ejection part and a passage are defined, where air including an oxygen is injected through the injection part, an exhaust gas is ejected though the ejection part ejecting, and the passage defines a single path which connects the injection part and the ejection part; and a unit cell disposed to be adjacent to the positive current collector. The unit cell includes a positive electrode layer, an active material of which is the oxygen gas, a negative electrode metal layer disposed on an opposite to the positive current collector with respect to the positive electrode layer, and an electrolyte membrane interposed between the positive electrode layer and the negative electrode metal layer.

  • Publication number: 20110214997
Abstract: A device for hydrogen gas production comprising a working electrode comprising a magnetically-modified semiconductor electrode. Onset of hydrogen gas evolution for the device, measured at a current density of about 0.4 mA/cm2, occurs at an overpotential of no more than about ?1200 mV, or no more than about ?600 mV, or no more than about ?500 mV. The magnetically-modified semiconductor working electrode provides the device with a photoconversion efficiency of at least about 0.1%, or at least about 1.6%, or at least about 6.2%. Other applications include photovoltaics, photoelectrochemical synthesis, and photocatalysis.

  • Patent number: 7488549
Abstract: A proton conducting polymer having a repeating unit given by formula (1) below is provided. A proton conducting polymer membrane manufactured using the proton conducting polymer can be more easily manufactured than a conventional fluorine-based membrane and can be commercialized as an automobile fuel cell due to its low cost of production. Also, the proton conducting polymer membrane has high moisture content and does not cause the water flooding at high current density, thereby improving the efficiency of a cell. In addition, the proton conducting polymer membrane enables a fuel cell to stably operate at temperatures of 100° C. or higher, thereby preventing the poisoning of a catalyst and extending the lifetime of the fuel cell.
