Publication number: 20040091300Abstract: A paper feeder of a printer has a plurality of paper feeding paths to feed a printing paper, and a main fed roller feeding the printing paper to an image forming unit of an image forming apparatus. The paper feeding paths are disposed along an outer circumference of the main fed roller and confluent along a connecting conveyance path by the main feed roller. The connecting conveyance path is connected with a main conveyance path which guides the printing paper to the image forming unit of the image forming apparatus. By a single feed roller, the printing paper from the paper feeding cassette in an automatic paper feeding mode, the printing paper from a manual paper feeding tray in a manual paper feeding mode, and the printing paper being inverted and returned in double-sided printing, can be fed to the paper conveyance path efficiently.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2003Publication date: May 13, 2004Inventor: Heung-Kyu Jang

Publication number: 20040057764Abstract: An electrophotographic printer including at least one paper feeder, a printing unit, a feed roller, and an overhead projector paper detector. The at least one paper feeder loads recording media. The printing unit transfers a toner image formed according to an electrophotographic method to the recording media fed from the paper feeder and applies heat and pressure to the recording media so that the toner image is fixed and fused to the recording media. The feed roller is installed between paper feeder and the printing unit and advances the recording media fed from the paper feeder to the printing unit. The overhead projector paper detector is installed between the feed roller and the printing unit to determine whether the recording media are OHP papers. Accordingly, even though recording media are fed from a plurality of cassettes, only one OHP paper detector can detect OHP papers.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2003Publication date: March 25, 2004Applicant: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventor: Heung-kyu Jang

Patent number: 6227533Abstract: A sheet feeding device that may be constructed using a first tray mounted in a frame and biased by an elastic member to bring the paper stacked on the first tray into engagement with a pickup roller. A finger is pivotally attached to the frame to force the paper loaded from the first tray to be loaded sequentially. A second tray is attached to the frame and has an end that forms a document guide that is interposed between the finger and the pickup roller. Alternatively, the second tray can end before the pickup roller and a film can be attached to the second tray to form a document guide that extends between the pickup roller and the finger. Regardless of the method used to form a document guide, the document guide allows a user to intersperse a manually fed document between documents that are being loaded from a separate tray using an automatic document loading process.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 1998Date of Patent: May 8, 2001Assignee: Samsung Electronic Co. Patent number: 6169297Abstract: A metal thin film with an ohmic contact for light emit diodes and a method of producing such a film are disclosed. The metal thin film has a p-type gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductor layer. Nickel (Ni), platinum (Pt) and gold (Au) layers are deposited on the GaN semiconductor layer in a way such that the gold layer forms a top layer, with either one of the platinum and nickel layers being selectively used as an inter-diffusion barrier between metal layers. The inter-diffusion barrier may be formed by depositing platinum between the nickel and gold layers, thus forming an Ni/Pt/Au metal thin film, or formed by depositing nickel between the platinum and gold layers, thus forming an Pt/Ni/Au metal thin film. In the method, a GaN semiconductor is washed so as to be free from carbide and oxide layers. The Ni, Pt and Au layers are formed on the GaN semiconductor layer through a vacuum deposition process at 5×10−5-2×10−1 torr.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1998Date of Patent: January 2, 2001Assignee: Kwangju Institute of Science and TechnologyInventors: Ja Soon Jang, Hyo Keun Kim, Seong Ju Park, Tae Yeon Seong, Heung Kyu Jang
