The air conditioner includes an outdoor unit having a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, and a flowpath switching valve disposed on a refrigerant flowpath between the compressor and the outdoor heat exchanger, a plurality of indoor units configured to operate in a cooling mode or in a heating mode, a mode controller configured to selectively guide refrigerant received from the outdoor unit to the plurality of indoor units. The mode controller guiding the refrigerant through one or more of: a first refrigerant pipe extending from the flowpath switching valve to the mode control unit, a second refrigerant pipe extending from the flowpath switching valve and diverging to the outdoor heat exchanger, and to the mode control unit, and a third refrigerant pipe extending from the outdoor heat exchanger to the mode controller.

Abstract: A water level detecting device and a dehumidifier including the same are provided. The water level detecting device comprises a guide arranged within a water container for collecting a condensate water generated as a dehumidifying function is performed, a sensing object inserted within the guide and configured to ascend on the condensate water collected in the water container, and a sensor arranged in a main body of a dehumidifier which the water container is mounted to and dismounted from, and configured to sense a movement of the sensing object. The water level of the water container is set to any of at least two different water levels according to an inserting direction of the sensing object inserted into the guide.

The fan casing includes a fan-housing unit having a volute space in which a blower fan is rotatably mounted and an outlet space combined with the volute space. The volute space of the fan-housing unit is provided at an inner top surface of the volute space with a concave recess leading to an upper surface of the outlet space such that the overall inner surface of the volute space takes a shape of Archimedes' spiral. The fan casing also includes a front panel attached to a front face of the fan-housing unit, which is provided with an air intake opening and a turning plate bent forward. The turning plate defines an outlet duct by combination with the outlet space to direct room air in the volute space to a front air outlet through the outlet space.
