  • Patent number: 6987956
Abstract: Disclosed are a system and a method for improving performance in an HDR (High Data Rate) wireless terminal utilizing diversity techniques. The wireless terminal comprises two transmission paths, one including a duplexer and the other bypassing the duplexer, and two reception paths, one including the duplexer and the other not including a duplexer and completely isolated from any transmission path. When the terminal is determined to be in an HDR mode, the transmission path including the duplexer and both reception paths are utilized. When the terminal is operating in a low data rate mode, the transmission path bypassing the duplexer and the reception path completely isolated from the transmission paths are utilized, resulting in lower minimum detectable signal, thus reducing current consumption in the wireless terminal.

  • Publication number: 20050012633
Abstract: An emergency lighting fixture mounted under a switch cover that protects an electrical switch button for turning on/off the indoor lights, with a lamp concealed inside the cover providing lighting to an indoor area during normal times as well as in emergency situations involving power failures caused by shutoff of electricity, fire, or natural disasters like earthquakes. A transparent window on the same surface adjacent to lamp transmits light from the lamp. A switch on the front surface of the cover turns the lamp on or off, and a control circuit is mounted inside the cover, with a charging unit, a power-failure sensing unit, an emergency sensing unit, and a control unit.

  • Patent number: 6146213
Abstract: A wire connecting device includes an electrically conductive connection base and two spring-loaded connection plates for holding wires against the connection base. The connecting device is configured to be mounted in two different ways. The device may be mounted directly to a mounting surface by using mounting brackets on either side of the device that fit protrusions and grooves on the device. Alternatively, the device may be mounted to an angle iron by using a securing member shaped to mate with both the device and the angle iron. An electrically conductive connecting member couples the device to one or more similar connecting devices or, alternatively, a connecting member provides structural support between the device and at least one other similar connecting device.
