  • Publication number: 20120128329
Abstract: The AV data reproducing apparatus includes: (i) a reading section for reading out, from a recording medium, additional function information indicating an additional function correlated with a manipulation input; and (ii) an additional function program executing section for executing the additional function in response to the manipulation input. With this, an operation unique to the content can be carried out by executing the additional function (additional function program) indicated by the additional function information stored in the recording medium together with the AV data. This makes it possible for the AV data reproducing apparatus to carry out an operation other than an operation intrinsically corresponding to a key.

  • Patent number: 7756386
Abstract: After reproduction of AV data is interrupted, the story before the interruption can easily be grasped and accompanying information associated with a character is displayed as is necessary. A main file (101) of the AV data recorded on an AV data recording medium (10) is divided into one or more chapters (101a, 101b, . . . ) and recorded. A digest of each chapter is recorded as digest data (102a, 102b, . . . ) and recorded in a digest file (102), which is correlated to each chapter of the main file (101) and recorded on the same or different AV data recording medium (10) as or from the main file (101). When reproducing the interrupted main file (101), the digest file (102) corresponding to the respective chapters before the interruption is reproduced before the main file (101) interrupted is reproduced. Moreover, instead of the digest file (102), it is possible to record accompanying information on a character such as a person coming on the scene and select the type of accompanying information to be reproduced.

  • Publication number: 20080310817
Abstract: A recording control section controls recording, on an optical disc, of a video TS and an audio TS, each of which is composed of plural pieces of partial data, and a ClipInfo creating section creates a time-address conversion table for the video TS and a time-address conversion table for the audio TS. The ClipInfo creating section sets a value of a relative address field of the time-address conversion table for the audio TS to a value of the relative address of partial data having a minimum time stamp that is larger than a value of a time stamp field of the time-address conversion table for the corresponding video TS. Thus, it is possible to provide an information recording apparatus which, in the case of recording on a recording medium plural pieces of stream data which should be reproduced in sync with each other at least partially, can reduce the amount of memory used at the time of reproduction of the stream data.

  • Publication number: 20050157599
Abstract: In write-once media, there occurs wasted recording space at the time of update of an index file for AV file management. In view of this, a new index file is generated at the time of update, and thumbnail image data in an existing index file is referred to, whereby the wasted space is reduced, At the same time, attribute information is stored in the new index file, whereby high-speed access to minimum information required can be realized.

  • Publication number: 20030163449
Abstract: When the management area and the actual data area are separated beforehand in a filesystem and the management area is replicated to perform backup, the maximum number of files to be managed will be limited by the size of the management area because it is necessary to reserve the management area and the backup management area beforehand. In a filesystem in which the management area and the data area are recorded into a common area, it is impossible to use a replicating technique of the entire management area since there is no concept of the management area.
