    Abstract: A stacker has a feed unit for feeding separate sheets in a direction, a stacking unit for stacking the separate sheets in a normal position, and a sheet classifying mechanism for shifting a sheet into a position different from the normal position, upstream of the stacking unit with respect to the direction. Sheets to be used to classify respective batches of sheets stacked by the stacking unit can selectively be shifted into the position different from the normal position by the sheet classifying mechanism. Since those shifted sheets can easily and clearly be recognized by the operator, the batches of stacked sheet can be sorted out with ease. The sheets remain sightly in appearance as no classifying ink mark is applied to those sheets used to classify the batches of stacked sheets.

The compound exhibits a superior antimicrobial activity, especially against gram positive microorganisms, and is thus useful for the treatments and prevention of various infectious diseases in clinics.

    Abstract: In detecting indices (references) provided on a base paper with a distance therebetween along the longitudinal direction of the base paper, wherein either passed or reflected light amount through or from the indices differs, by a light detector positioned on a feed path while the indices are fed along the longitudinal direction, a threshold value is renewed each time when at least three indices are detected based upon peak values (maximum and minimum values) of output signals from the light detector. This is accomplished by renewing the threshold value by calculating the new threshold value based upon an intermediate or average value among the peak values between, for example, the indices in order to continue the indices position detecting process in an accurate fashion even if there is an abnormality in the base paper or others when the abnormality is minor such that it does not interfere with the subsequent process.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a thermal printer and a printing method thereby, using a step motor for feeding a sheet of paper, a scanning type thermal head and a control unit by which the paper feeding operation is temporarily stopped and the printing operation is restarted after the stopped period. This thermal printer further comprises a delay drive unit which drives the thermal head with delay of one or two clock periods, predetermined as a control parameter for this printing operation, by a phase switch timing point for the step motor, in response to the time-lag defined by the phase switch timing point to an actual paper feeding motion; and a pre-print unit which outputs a command signal to begin the printing operation of the thermal head for printing one or more times the print data which follows the final print data of when the paper feeding operation was stopped, prior to the above described regular drive operation of the thermal head at the restart of the printing operation.

A bar code label issuing method uses the above described bar code label printer to issue only effective bar code label in an automatically control manner.

    Abstract: An industrially advantageous woody molding is produced by adding a dibasic acid anhydride to a woody material such as a wood meal in the presence or absence of a catalyst such as sodium carbonate, whereby the dibasic acid anhydride is bonded to the hydroxy group of the woody material to form an esterified woody material, adding thereto a compound having at least two epoxy groups in the molecule thereof, kneading well the mixture, and then heat and press molding the kneaded mixture at a temperature higher than 120.degree. C. and a pressure greater than 60 kg/cm.sup.2.The product thus obtained by the process of this invention has a smooth and lustrous surface, has good water resistance and dimensional stability, and also is excellent in mechanical strength and hardness.

    Abstract: The process for producing a plastic-like cured woody molding, which comprises applying a pressure necessary for plasticizing at least a woody component at temperature of from 120.degree. C. to 180.degree. C. to a composition comprising (A) an oligoesterified woody material obtained by alternately adding a polybasic acid anhydride and a monoepoxy compound having unsaturated double bond to the hydroxy groups of a woody material and (B) an oligomer obtained from a polybasic acid anhydride and a monoepoxy compound having unsaturated double bond with the addition of (C) a radical polymerization initiator to simultaneously perform the plasticization and crosslinking by the polymerization of the unsaturated double bonds. The plastic-like cured woody moldings thus obtained have dense and glossy surfaces and are particularly excellent in dimensional stability, mechanical properties and heat distortion temperature.
