  • Patent number: 11015827
Abstract: A method of controlling an environmental control system, where the environmental control system is configured to operate in accordance with a control schedule, in a scheduled mode of operation. At a control device that is associated with the environmental control system, a user can receive input indicative of a boost mode. In the boost mode, the environmental control system can disregard the control schedule and operate in accordance with a boost setting, with a target temperature. Responsive to the boost mode, further user input may be used to set the target temperature for boost mode. Boost mode can be activated based on the target temperature, and environmental control can be performed based on the target temperature.

  • Publication number: 20200349966
Abstract: Hot-word free adaptation of one or more function(s) of an automated assistant. Sensor data, from one or more sensor components of an assistant device that provides an automated assistant interface (graphical and/or audible), is processed to determine occurrence and/or confidence metric(s) of various attributes of a user that is proximal to the assistant device. Whether to adapt each of one or more of the function(s) of the automated assistant is based on the occurrence and/or the confidence of one or more of the various attributes. For example, certain processing of at least some of the sensor data can be initiated, such as initiating previously dormant local processing of at least some of the sensor data and/or initiating transmission of at least some of the audio data to remote automated assistant component(s).

  • Publication number: 20200342864
Abstract: Set forth is a motorized computing device that selectively navigates to a user according content of a spoken utterance directed at the motorized computing device. The motorized computing device can modify operations of one or more motors of the motorized computing device according to whether the user provided a spoken utterance while the one or more motors are operating. The motorized computing device can render content according to interactions between the user and an automated assistant. For instance, when automated assistant is requested to provide graphical content for the user, the motorized computing device can navigate to the user in order to present the content the user. However, in some implementations, when the user requests audio content, the motorized computing device can bypass navigating to the user when the motorized computing device is within a distance from the user for audibly rendering the audio content.

  • Patent number: 10295210
Abstract: A method of configuring a control schedule for an environmental control system using a control device is disclosed. The control device has a display and a directional input element such as a rotary dial. The method involves performing a time period configuration process for a sequence of time periods. A time period is added to the control schedule and a representation of the added time period is displayed. In response to directional activation of the directional input element, a duration of the added time period is adjusted, with the representation being updated to indicate the adjusted duration. The adjusted duration is stored in response to a confirmation input signal. The time period configuration process is repeated until it is determined that no more time periods are to be added to the control schedule.

  • Patent number: 8860997
Abstract: A preview image of image data to be output is generated, in response to a request from an operation device, and can be displayed via the operation device. A first preview image of the image data is generated based on an output setting for outputting the image data. The first preview image is stored in a storage device. The output setting can be changed based on a changing request from the operation device. It is determined, in response to a second preview request from the operation device, after sending the first preview image, whether the first preview image is to be regenerated, based on the changed output setting. The first preview image stored in the storage device can be sent when the first preview image is not to be regenerated, for example, when a second preview image is not to be generated.

  • Patent number: 8840045
Abstract: A fluid dispensing device is disclosed that is capable of producing two distinct spray patterns. The device may include a rotatable hub having a first barrel for producing a first spray pattern and a second barrel for producing a second spray pattern. The barrels may be oriented in different directions with a predetermined angle between directions, such as approximately 180 degrees. A shell may be coupled to and rotatable with the hub. The shell may include a first portion having a first structural feature corresponding to a characteristic of the first spray pattern and a second portion may having a second structural feature corresponding to a characteristic of the second spray pattern. The structural features inform the user of a characteristic of the spray pattern that will be discharged by the device by the associated barrels, thereby permitting the user to intuitively select the desired spray pattern.

  • Patent number: 8643854
Abstract: An image forming apparatus, connected to an information processing device via a network, includes a receiving section, a memory, an interpretation section, and a transmission section. The receiving section receives a plurality of pieces of print data from the information processing device via the network. The plurality of pieces of print data include first print data for normal printing, second print data for interruption printing, and third print data. The memory has first to third buffers. The first and second buffers store the first and second print data, respectively. The third buffer stores the third print data during execution of the interruption printing of the second print data. The interpretation section interprets the plurality of pieces of print data. The transmission section transmits a reply message to the information processing device in accordance with a result of the third print data interpreted by the interpretation section.
