  • Patent number: 8412184
Abstract: Upon detection of an environmental change in a neighborhood, a cellular phone makes selections of a communication device and a communication path, which are used for a communication. A communication packet transmitted from a communication corresponding terminal is distributed to the cellular phone that is the destination of the communication packet, and a PC physically positioned in the neighborhood of the cellular phone, according to the results of the selections, thereby switching from a communication using only the cellular phone to a communication using both the cellular phone and the PC.

  • Patent number: 7698436
Abstract: An IP connection processing device and, more particularly, an IP connection processing device that, upon completion of user authentication, initiates a connection to an IP network in a designated area constructed by a wireless LAN or the like. The IP connection processing device, which processes the connection to the IP network that requires user authentication for connection to the network, includes components for: detecting authentication completion; acquiring an authentication result; and initiating or resuming the IP connection processing upon detection of the authentication completion. The IP connection processing device, upon detection of the authentication completion, requests IP address information from the IP network, and acquires an IP address of its own based on the information returned by the IP network.

  • Patent number: 7554950
Abstract: A handover method in a mobile communication system utilizing the Mobile IP, which method solves the problem of the loss of communication packets (packet loss) and deterioration of the quality of service occurring when switching communication media, including switching connection from a first network NW1 to which a terminal is currently connected to a second network NW2 at which time transferring once to a third network NW3 (first step), establishing connection with the second network NW2 during the transfer (second step), then breaking the connection with the third network NW2 and transferring to the second network NW2 (third step).

  • Publication number: 20030225892
Abstract: An old care-of address is assigned to a mobile node in the communication area of the old access router and the mobile node is communicating with a correspondent node. Immediately before the mobile node enters the communication area of a new access router, a binding update message is transmitted to a diverging point router. The diverging point router is a router device located in the node where a route from the correspondent node to the old access router and a route from the correspondent router to the new access router are diverged. The diverging point router transfers packets addressed to the old care-of address to the new care-of address assigned to the mobile node in the communication area of the new access router.
