  • Patent number: 8501661
Abstract: A catalyst for purifying exhaust gases includes a substrate, and a catalytic layer. The catalytic layer includes a lower catalytic layer, a first upper catalytic layer, and a second upper catalytic layer. The lower catalytic layer being loaded with Pd and/or Pt is formed on the substrate. The first upper catalytic layer being loaded with Pd covers an upstream side of the lower catalytic layer, and exhibits a concentration of loaded Pd that falls in a range of from 4.5 to 12% by mass when the entirety of the first upper catalytic layer is taken as 100% by mass. The second upper catalytic layer being loaded with Rh covers a downstream side of the lower catalytic layer.

  • Patent number: 7183236
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to realize low pressure loss and high purification performance in a constitution in which a primary catalyst component and co-catalyst component are loaded onto a ceramic support that allows catalyst components to be loaded directly. According to the present invention, a primary catalyst component in the form of a catalyst precious metal and a co-catalyst component in the form of an oxygen occluding component are loaded on the surface of a honeycomb-shaped ceramic support, including the inner surfaces of pores. As a result of the large loaded amount of co-catalyst component entering inside the pores, the loaded amount of co-catalyst component on the cell wall surfaces is reduced, thereby making it possible to inhibit increases in pressure loss. In addition, since the primary catalyst component and co-catalyst component are in close proximity to each other, catalyst performance is improved.

  • Publication number: 20040082468
Abstract: To provide a ceramic catalyst having both promoter activity and heat resistance at a small amount of promoter component and also having a low pressure drop and a low heat capacity, a noble metal as a catalyst component and at least two layers of promoter components having oxygen storage capacities are supported on a ceramic carrier which is prepared by replacing a part of component element of the ceramic material such as cordierite to enable to support a catalyst component directly thereon. The outermost layer consists of a promoter component having the highest heat resistance, and the innermost layer consists of a promoter component having the highest oxygen storage capacity, which improve heat resistance without increasing an amount of supported promoter component.

  • Patent number: 5223976
Abstract: The vehicle mirror of the present invention is made such that a supporting member is arranged with a predetermined spacing in respect to the rear mirror member of an anti-halation mirror member having the anti-halation device such as liquid crystal or electrochromic element or the like between the front transparent member and the rear mirror member getting a reflection as the mirror, the piezo-electric vibrator generating vibration is fixed to the supporting member, a spacing between the rear mirror member and the supporting member is held by the spacer member and then the vibration of the piezo-electric vibrator is tansmitted to the front transparent member. The front transparent member is exposed from the opening of the holder and at the same time the circumferential edge of the anti-halation mirror member is held by the holding part. With such an arrangement above, a function of anti-halation and another function of removing water droplets can be provided.

  • Patent number: 4260585
Abstract: Low-soda alumina granules suitable for use as an alumina porcelain insulator and alumina catalyst carrier, and the method and equipment for their manufacture. The method comprises dehydrating aluminum hydroxide at a high temperature and then granulating it. The granules thus obtained are placed in an autoclave, washed and cured with water drops, then taken out of the autoclave dried and fired. The manufacturing equipment is used for curing the granules with water drops.
