  • Patent number: 9902390
Abstract: When the accelerator and the brake pedal are simultaneously depressed, braking occurs with drive force being produced. This increases the amount of heat produced by a friction braking device. Therefore, when the accelerator and the brake pedal are simultaneously depressed (S100: Yes), the range of use for a regenerative braking device is increased by expanding the regenerative braking limit (S101), thereby decreasing the range of use for the friction braking device, so that the produced heat to be suppressed. As a result, it is possible to simplify the friction braking device and eliminate the need to install a cooling mechanism equipped a high cooling performance.

  • Patent number: 9493162
Abstract: When an accelerator pedal and a brake pedal are being simultaneously operated, an electronic control unit executes a driving power limiting process, in which the driving power is set less than that when only the accelerator pedal is operated. The electronic control unit executes the driving power limiting process after a predetermined time has elapsed from when simultaneous operation of the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal is performed. If the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal are simultaneously operated, the electronic control unit sets a target deceleration of the vehicle based on the vehicle speed before the start of the driving power limiting process and the operation amount of the brake pedal and then controls the driving power during execution of the driving power limiting process such that the deceleration of the vehicle matches the target deceleration.

  • Patent number: 9216730
Abstract: An ECU is mounted on a vehicle including an engine and a motor that can generate cranking torque applied to a rotation shaft of the engine. Where a request for starting the engine is not issued, the ECU determines whether the engine is during coasting or not. The ECU changes cranking target torque in accordance with engine rotation speed. In this way, engine rotation speed during cranking can be reduced to and remain in the optimum region where misfire and resonance can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 9216639
Abstract: If the accelerator is on upon restarting a driving force source in travel mode by the time when the vehicle comes to a standstill after the driving force source is manually operated to stop while the vehicle is traveling, a control device for the vehicle implements first control in which the driving force output to the drive wheels is gradually increased. If the accelerator is on upon switching to the travel mode following restarting of the driving force source in the neutral mode and by the time the vehicle comes to a standstill after the driving force source is manually operated to stop while the vehicle is traveling, the control device implements second control in which the driving force output to the drive wheels is increased. The first control increases the driving force not as much as the second control increases the driving force.
