  • Patent number: 5761554
Abstract: A dial rotatably mounted on a camera is provided with at least two kinds of information, corresponding to variable settings, functions, or modes. The dial may be rotated to set one of the kinds of information at a time, when an index mark points to symbols on the dial representative of individual settings or of a setting change mode to be performed in combination with other operating members provided to the camera. An LCD provided on the camera displays changes in the information in response to the rotation of the dial. The dial can have the kinds of information provided to the dial in adjacent angular ranges, or alternatively in concentric form, the kinds of information switchable by an additional member.

  • Patent number: 5721984
Abstract: A camera having a built-in strobe includes a strobe device which moves between a retracted position and a light emitting position. A pivot device supports the strobe device. A moving device moves the strobe device from the retracted position to the light emitting position. A locking device locks the strobe device when the strobe device is at the retracted position. A locking release device is positioned in a vicinity of one end of the pivot device along an extended axis of the pivot device. When the locking release device is moved towards the pivot device along the extended axis of the pivot device the strobe device is unlocked.

  • Patent number: 5565941
Abstract: A pop-up internal strobe unit of a camera is enabled when a hot shoe cover is inserted into a hot shoe, or if the hot shoe is empty, and is disabled when an external strobe is mounted in the hot shoe. The enabling and disabling of the pop-up internal strobe unit is controlled by operation of a switch extending into the hot shoe region. The switch is not actuated, thus enabling operation of the pop-up internal strobe unit, when a matched recess provided in the hot shoe cover is inserted into the hot shoe. The switch is actuated, thus disabling operation of the pop-up internal strobe unit operation, when an external strobe is mounted in the shoe.

  • Patent number: 4047230
Abstract: A master sheet is coated with a magnetic layer carrying magnetic signals in, for example, a spiral magnetic recording track, and is pressed into contact with a copy sheet which is also coated with a magnetic layer. A magnetic field is applied to the sheets to transfer the magnetic signals from the master sheet to the copy sheet. The copy sheet is then separated from the master sheet by air pressure, suction or mechanical means in a direction perpendicular to the sheets and subsequently fed away from the master sheet in a direction parallel to the sheets while maintained separated from the master sheet to reduce the transfer noise level to a negligible amount.
