Abstract: An electronic mail system is provided that can control suppression of a transmission band and a storage area of a mail, and can communicate all contents of a mail transmitted from a sender to a receiver. The electronic mail system is provided with a transmission apparatus (1) and a reception apparatus (2). The transmission apparatus (1), when transmitting a mail A with a signature added, transmits a mail A′ whose size is made smaller by converting the signature to a signature ID. The mail A′ is held in a mail server 4 through a mail server 3. The receipt apparatus 2, when receiving the mail A′ from the mail server 4, restores the mail A by converting the signature ID in the mail A′ to the signature.

Abstract: A communication system including a management terminal and a plurality of communication terminals connected to a communication network via network termination unit etc., wherein the management terminal instructs the type of the status information and requests transmission of the status information or suspension of transmission of the same to the communication terminals by the user-user information in the call setup message and wherein the communication terminals receiving the request for transmission extract and hold the address information indicating the management terminal contained in the call setup message and, when detecting an occurrence of a failure or other specific phenomenon, transmit the indicated type of the status information to the management terminal by the user-user information in the call setup message while defining address information indicating the management terminal as the termination address information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for completing a document in accordance with a blank tabularized form document from data automatically retrieved from a database. An image of the blank form document is read into the system as image data from which a format of the blank form document and key information is determined. Supplemental data relating to the key information is automatically retrieved from a database and outputted in accordance with recognized parts of the original blank form document. In a second embodiment, the retrieved data is edited before being outputted. The data automatically retrieved from the database is selectively printed onto the original form document or onto a second form document.

Abstract: A method for translating knowledge contained within a knowledge system into data records for a data base management system. The method collects the factual knowledge and other correlated auxiliary knowledge within the knowledge base, analyzes the frequency of the use of the knowledge in the knowledge system and proposes a data record structure for the data base to which the knowledge will be transferred. Upon operator approval, the factual and auxiliary knowledge is retrieved from the knowledge base, translated into data records in accordance with the approved data record structures and stored in the data base.

Abstract: In knowledge translation of data base in an expert system which draws inference based on knowledge, a table for defining a correspondence relationship between the knowledge and the data base, data base/knowledge translator for reading data necessary for the inference directly from the data base by using the correspondence relation table and translating it to knowledge form, and knowledge/data base translator for translating the knowledge prepared by the inference to data base form by using the correspondence relation table and storing it are provided.
