  • Patent number: 4963099
Abstract: An electrical junction box comprising a case having a rib; a wiring board assembly provided in the case and comprised of an insulating board and a plurality of bus bars mounted on the insulating board, the bus bars being sandwiched between the insulating board and the rib of the case; and a drainage channel provided near the bus bars. The drainage channel comprises a cutout of the rib formed at a portion bridging the adjacent bus bars. With this structure, the water having entered the case is prevented from staying in this portion, so that it may smoothly flow through the cutout of the rib to the outside of the case. Accordingly, the generation of short circuits between the adjacent bus bars may be prevented. At least a through-hole may be formed through the insulating board at a position near the bus bars, and a gap may be defined between the bus bars and the insulating board by providing a plurality of projections on the insulating board.

  • Patent number: 4909745
Abstract: A junction block is composed of an upper casing accommodating a bus bar distribution board and a lower casing forming an integral connector housing for accommodating a mating connector. The bus bar has integral tabs extending rectangularly to the bus bar and into the connector housing through respective holes formed in the bottom wall of the connector housing. There is provided a deflecting barrier member in the shape of an elongate rectangular bar adjacent an opening which has necessarily been formed in the bottom wall of the connector housing as finished by plastic moulding. In case any water or water drops should creep into the connector housing via the opening in its bottom wall, they are prevented from reaching the tab base zone by the deflecting barrier member which serves to conduct creeping water or water drops downwardly or in the discharge direction. Hence, it will be avoided to cause short circuits or leakage currents to occur between the adjoining bus bars or terminals of the connector.

  • Patent number: 4871884
Abstract: An electrical connecting box having improved water discharging properties. The connecting box includes a box body and a bus bar circuit board. The bus bar circuit board is sloped to defined a sloped surface having a predefined angle of inclination from a horizontal plane. This may be done either by mounting the box body at an inclined angle, or by inclining the bus bar circuit board with respect to the box body. A water discharge hole is formed in a bottom plate of the box body.
