Patent number: 11618427Abstract: A vehicle control device that controls a vehicle electric brake system includes: a shutdown determination part that determines whether the vehicle control device itself has been previously shut down normally or abnormally; a cranking determination part that determines whether an instruction to perform a cranking at a start-up of the vehicle is based on a manual operation of a driver of the vehicle or automatically; a diagnosis part that performs a plurality of initial diagnoses of the vehicle control device at the start-up of the vehicle; and a diagnosis skip control part configured to provide control such that the diagnosis part skips at least one of the initial diagnoses when the shutdown determination part determines that the vehicle control device has been previously shut down abnormally, and at the same time, when the cranking determination part determines that the cranking has been conducted based on the driver's manual operation.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2017Date of Patent: April 4, 2023Assignee: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Eisuke Horii, Katsuhito Kanbe, Hiroyuki Hase, Hideharu Murano, Shinji Suto, Keishiro Kikuchi, Katsuya Matsuzaki, Toru Watanabe, Hisanori Yanagida, Yuki Hotani

Patent number: 10753333Abstract: A vehicle control system includes a boost device, a braking unit, a cell motor, and a start operating unit. The boost device boosts a braking force applied by a foot brake to a vehicle with an output voltage from a battery. The braking unit, which is different than the foot brake, brakes the vehicle appropriately and keeps the braking force even in a case that the output voltage is not supplied from the battery, or which braking unit does not require the output voltage from the battery. The cell motor is driven by an output voltage from the battery and starts the engine. The start operation unit starts the cell motor, wherein the vehicle control system has a function not to start the cell motor when the start operation unit is operated, unless the braking unit is in operation.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2017Date of Patent: August 25, 2020Assignee: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Katsuhito Kanbe, Eisuke Horii, Katsuya Matsuzaki, Yuki Hotani, Keishiro Kikuchi, Hisanori Yanagida, Toshihiko Fukuda, Hideharu Murano, Shinji Suto, Ikuo Nonaga, Hiroyuki Hase

Patent number: 9221462Abstract: A vehicle behavior stability control apparatus includes a yaw rate sensor, a lateral acceleration sensor, a vehicle speed sensor, an urgency determining section, a target yaw rate setting section, and an actuator control section. If the urgency determining section determines that an urgency with which a vehicle behavior is to be stabilized is equal to or lower than a determination criterion that indicates a necessity to stabilize the vehicle behavior urgently, the target yaw rate setting section sets, as a target yaw rate, a right-left cooperative target yaw rate that is commonly applied to both right cornering and left cornering. Otherwise, if the urgency determining section determines that the urgency exceeds the determination criterion, the target yaw rate setting section sets, as a target yaw rate, right-left independent target yaw rates that are independently applied to the right cornering and left cornering, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2013Date of Patent: December 29, 2015Assignee: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Noriaki Suzuki, Hideharu Murano, Ryota Yasuda
