    Abstract: A first loss determination section 13 of a first communication device 10 determines that a data unit is lost if an acknowledgment response for the transmitted data unit from a second communication device 30 is not received within a predetermined time and retransmits the data unit when the determination is made. When a determination section 16 determines that a spurious timeout has occurred, a window control section 17 sets a target value for decreasing the size of a congestion window and then gradually decreases the size of the congestion window to the target value when the acknowledgment response is received. Therefore, in a case of executing a response algorithm for changing a slow start threshold and the congestion window, if a segment loss occurs subsequent to the spurious timeout, an efficient loss recovery is achieved and the throughput is improved.

    Abstract: A Gateway 3 receives mobile station data corresponding to a mobile station 2 from a switching center in a mobile packet communication network 1. The mobile station data may be communicated with a communication protocol such as Network Management Protocol (NWMP). Mobile station 2 transmits and receives user data, such as Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) data, in a protocol, such as HTTP, via gateway 3. In transmitting user data from mobile station 2 to a server 5, gateway 3 may add the mobile station data corresponding to mobile station 2 to the data. Mobile station 2 cannot falsify the mobile station data because the added mobile station data corresponds to identification data used in establishing a wireless connection between mobile station 2 and mobile packet communication network 1. As a result, server 5 may trust mobile station data added by gateway 3 to the user data transmitted from mobile station 2.

The terminal electrode is formed by coating an electrode paste containing a Cu powder and a glass frit to the outer surface of the ferrite core, and then applying a heat treatment to the ferrite core. There is a reaction layer of a portion of the ferrite core and the glass frit at a boundary between the ferrite core and the Cu conduction layer. The terminal electrodes has the peel strength identical with that of an existent Ag terminal electrode, without forming a plate layer.
