    Abstract: An image recording device includes a printer assembly, including a former that is configured to form an image on recording media and a cassette is detachably attached to the printer assembly for accommodating recording media. A main lock lever is movably attached to the printer assembly, and includes a main lock section that is engageable with a main engagement section provided on the cassette. A cassette eject button is movably attached to the printer assembly and is engageable with the main lock lever for moving the main lock section between a position where the main lock section is engaged with the engagement section, and another position where the engagement between the main lock section and the engagement section is released. A sub-lock lever including a sub-lock section is engaged with an engagement section provided on the cassette.

    Abstract: A multi-part output paper tray 14 including a plurality of tray plates 21 to 24 slidably arranged together in a paper eject direction is attached to a printer assembly 1 so that it can be extended/collapsed, the printer assembly 1 including a print head attached thereto for forming an image on recording paper 50. The extended/collapsed state of the output paper tray 14 is detected by an angle sensor 313. A print operation is not performed when it is detected by the angle sensor 313 that the output paper tray 14 is in the housed state, and a print operation is performed when the output paper tray 14 is in the extended state.

    Abstract: An ink jet recording apparatus includes a disc tray which is contained in the recording device and on which a DVD disc is to be placed, a select switch for switching between a protruding state and an accommodated state of the disc tray, and a sheet feed tray on which recording sheets are placed and which are disposed substantially parallel to the disc tray, wherein the select switch, the sheet feed tray and the disc tray are operated on the front side of the ink jet recording apparatus. Further, a disc tray is movable in a printing direction and a tray discharge direction. When the disc tray is loaded into or unloaded from the recording device, the disc tray is transported in the tray discharge direction to move to outside an ink jet recording device. In other cases than the above case, the disc tray is accommodated in the ink jet recording device. Thus, the disc tray is transported into two directions.

    Abstract: A fixing roller cooperates with a pressing roller to heat and press a toner image to a recording medium so as to fix the toner image to the recording medium. A sheet-like web is impregnated with a mold release for supplying the mold release to a surface of the fixing roller by being pressed by the pressing roller. A first shaft has an unused portion of the web wound therearound, and a second shaft takes up the web after supplying the mold release to the fixing roller. A coil spring applies a rotational force in a direction opposite to a direction of drawing out the web relative to the first shaft so as to apply a tension to the web, thereby automatically removing slackness of the web.
