  • Publication number: 20090327814
Abstract: A diagnosis apparatus is disclosed that is able to promote productivity of a diagnosis of the target program which may be for an image forming apparatus such as a printer, a copier, or a fax. The diagnosis apparatus uses a diagnosis program which acquires log information of a target program at runtime. The diagnosis program is sent to a situation where the diagnosis program is to be executed. Further, the diagnosis apparatus includes a memory unit configured to store correspondence data between the diagnosis program and program selection information, where the program selection information is used for selecting the diagnosis program. Also included is a selecting unit which selects the diagnosis program based on the correspondence data, a sending unit which sends the diagnosis program to the situation, and a receiving unit which receives the log information from the diagnosis program.

  • Publication number: 20090132745
Abstract: An information processing apparatus improves the efficiency of use of a program capable of dynamically interrupting another program with a process. The program capable of dynamically interrupting another program with a process is received via a network and applied to the other program. A setting is received indicating whether the predetermined program should be applied to the other program when, after the predetermined program is applied, a supply of power to at least a part of the information processing apparatus is terminated and then resumed. Reapplication necessity information indicating the setting is stored in a storage unit. The predetermined program is reapplied to the other program when, after the application of the predetermined program, the supply of power to the at least a portion of the information processing apparatus is terminated and then resumed, based on the reapplication necessity information.

  • Patent number: 7423770
Abstract: An image-forming-device management system includes an image-forming device, a data communication device and a central management device. A real-time clock circuit (RTC) of the data communication device compares a current time with a predetermined data transmission time. A CPU included in a part constantly supplied with electricity from a power source in the data communication device instructs a power-source controller to supply the electricity from the power source to a communication-related part including a network control unit (NCU), a modem and an image-forming-device interface, thereby activating the communication-related part. Subsequently, the CPU calls out the central management device by using the NCU, and transmits data acquired from the image-forming device in advance, to the central management device by using the modem.

  • Publication number: 20060256381
Abstract: A data communication apparatus regularly obtains counter information from a plurality of image forming apparatuses. Then, the data communication apparatus moves and writes the counter information that is in a first memory and obtained at a previous time to a second memory. Thereafter, the counter information obtained this time is written to the first memory. At the same time, the data communication apparatus compares the counter information obtained this time with the counter information obtained the previous time. When there is a contradiction between both sets of counter information, the counter information is determined to be a counter abnormality and transmitted to a central management apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6961136
Abstract: An image-forming-device management system includes an image-forming-device, a data communication device and a central management device. A real-time clock circuit (RTC) of the data communication device compares a current time with a predetermined data transmission time. If the current time matches with the data transmission time, the RTC generates a data transmission request that requests for data transmission to the central management device. A CPU included in a part constantly supplied with electricity from a power source in the data communication device instructs a power-source controller to supply the electricity from the power source to a communication-related part including a network control unit (NCU), a modem and an image-forming-device interface, thereby activating the communication-related part.
