  • Patent number: 6450631
Abstract: An ink jet head cartridge stored in a closed space. The ink jet head cartridge includes a negative pressure generating member containing chamber and a liquid supply container which has a liquid containing part forming a closed space and generating negative pressure by deforming accompanied with flowing-out of the contained liquid and a box-like body with an inside surface equal to or analogous to the outside surface of the liquid containing part and with an atmosphere communicating part and which is mounted onto a mounting part so as to form the communicating part. As stored, a first sealing member seals the ejection port and a second sealing member seals the atmosphere communicating part, part of the liquid containing part is separated from the box-like body, and the interior of the liquid containing part and the liquid supply passage from the communicating part to the recording head are filled with liquid.

  • Patent number: 6435673
Abstract: A liquid container of the present invention is substantially in polyhedral form with the corners formed by the corners of the extended portions of the three planes of the polyhedron form. The container including outer walls having strength to form a housing, inner walls having the outer plane equal to or analogous to the inner plane of the outer walls with the corners corresponding to the corners of the outer walls to form a liquid containing portion capable of containing liquid in the interior formed thereby, having strength smaller than that of the outer walls, and a liquid supply portion for supplying liquid contained in the liquid containing portion to the outside. Then, for this liquid container, the liquid supply portion is sealed only by the inner walls. With the liquid container thus structured, it is possible to prevent liquid leakage more reliably without using the sealing tape, cap, or the like at the time of distribution for delivery.

  • Patent number: 6422674
Abstract: There is disclosed a liquid supply system comprises a negative pressure generating member containing chamber provided with a liquid supply portion for supply liquid to the outside and an atmosphere connecting portion for connecting with atmosphere for containing a negative pressure generating member holding the liquid inside, a liquid containing chamber connected to the negative pressure generating member containing chamber, forming a sealed space except the connection, and having a liquid containing portion which can generate a negative pressure by deformation, and liquid residual amount detecting means for detecting a liquid level position of the liquid in the liquid containing portion to detect a liquid residual amount in the liquid containing portion. Since the liquid residual amount can be known, a user can know the time to exchange the liquid containing chamber. Moreover, by detecting the liquid state in the liquid containing portion, more stable liquid supply operation can be realized.

  • Patent number: 6347865
Abstract: A liquid container comprises an inner wall that forms the liquid containing portion to contain liquid therein; an outer wall that forms the container to contain the liquid containing portion therein; and a liquid supply portion for supplying liquid from the liquid containing portion to the outside. Then, the inner wall is arranged to be a member to generate negative pressure in the liquid containing portion by being deformed following the leading-out of the liquid, and also, formed by the material having an elastic modulus change of 25% or less against the temperature change of use environment. With the liquid container thus structured, it is possible to implement the stable supply of liquid by stabilizing the characteristic of negative pressure in the liquid containing portion thereof irrespective of the temperature changes of use environments.
