Patent number: 7188395Abstract: A stopper portion has a minute protrusion on part of an outer peripheral face except a side face in the length direction of a fastener tape. This protrusion is a rib-like protrusion extended linearly in the length direction of the fastener tape formed on a vertex of the surface of a bent portion, a protrusion extended so as to be expanded in a curved shape in the length direction of the fastener tape or a rib-like protrusion protruded along a boundary portion between the bent portion of the stopper portion and a bottom face thereof. Existence of this protrusion not only reduces a sliding resistance when the slider is started but also eliminates prickly feeling and feeling of disharmony originating from a shape of an upper stopper which is a kind of the conventional stopper portion.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2003Date of Patent: March 13, 2007Assignee: YKK CorporationInventors: Naoki Kondo, Yoneo Yoshida, Yoshiyuki Toishi, Hideji Maeda

Patent number: 7114224Abstract: A weld portion produced by heat welding and a non-weld portion which does not undergo heat welding are formed on a contact face between an inside face of a stopper portion made of synthetic resin and a surface of a fastener tape. Preferably, a bottom end face of a rear side of the stopper portion is made substantially flush with a rear surface of the fastener tape by heating with pressure. Consequently, embrittlement of the stopper portion is prevented and its fixing strength is secured, thereby eliminating itchy feeling and feeling of discomfort originating from a configuration of the upper stopper portion.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2004Date of Patent: October 3, 2006Assignee: YKK CorporationInventors: Naoki Kondo, Yoneo Yoshida, Yoshiyuki Toishi, Hideji Maeda

Patent number: 6749703Abstract: In order to weld a reinforcing tape piece formed of a synthetic resin to a separable bottom stop attachment portion of a slide fastener chain by ultrasonic heating over a core portion and a main tape portion in a fastener tape, a welding time and/or an amplitude which are/is suitable for welding the reinforcing tape piece to the core portion and the vicinity of the core portion, and a welding time and/or an amplitude which are/is suitable for welding the reinforcing tape piece to the main tape portion are preset respectively. The welding of the reinforcing tape piece to the core portion and the vicinity of the core portion and the welding of the reinforcing tape piece to the main tape portion are carried out in two stages in accordance with the welding time or the amplitude which is set.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2002Date of Patent: June 15, 2004Assignee: YKK CorporationInventors: Keisuke Iwashita, Hideji Maeda, Satoshi Matsumura

Patent number: 6544364Abstract: With the ultrasonic adhering method and apparatus, ultrasonic adhesion can be made appropriately, regardless of external environments and a simple structure. The apparatus includes an ultrasonic oscillator for generating ultrasonic vibration, a horn provided in this ultrasonic oscillator for oscillating ultrasonically, and a temperature sensor for sensing the temperature of the horn. A controlling unit is provided for detecting the temperature of the horn and controlling oscillation time of the ultrasonic oscillator in a state of the horn being contact with an object to be adhered in such a manner that the oscillation time has a negative correlation with respect to the temperature of the horn.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2000Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: YKK CorporationInventors: Hideji Maeda, Keisuke Iwashita, Satoshi Matsumura
