  • Patent number: 4559976
Abstract: In a shuttleless air jet loom, a method for preventing a weft yarn having therein a defective portion, such as a too thin or too thick portion falling outside a predetermined range of limits, from being inserted into the shed and therefore woven in the fabric, is disclosed. In normal weaving operation, the weft yarn is monitored by a weft yarn sensor which is provided in the path of the weft yarn passage, and the weaving operation of the loom is interrupted when the sensor provides a signal representing a defective portion in the yarn. The yarn thus having the defect is deflected from its normal passage when it is to be picked into the shed. After the defective weft yarn has been disposed of, the loom is reversed to a shed-opening position where restarting of the weaving operation of the loom may be effected smoothly.

  • Patent number: 4548029
Abstract: A truck carrying plural rows of vertically placed empty bobbins is conveyed to one end of the machine base of a flyer frame, the empty bobbins of the first row are taken out of the truck and conveyed to an empty bobbin supply device on the machine base, the truck is moved a predetermined distance by an intermittent feed unit, and fresh full yarn packages from the flyer frame already placed on a conveyor are transferred by a full yarn package transfer device to said truck at the positions from which the empty bobbins were removed. The operation of taking empty bobbins from the truck and supplying them to the empty bobbin supplying device on the machine base and the operation of transferring the full yarn packages to said truck are performed in an alternate fashion.

  • Patent number: 4467593
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for automatically controlling the winding tension of the roving in a bobbin lead roving machine is disclosed. The mean bobbin winding diameter D.sub.B, bobbin r.p.m. N.sub.B and the flyer r.p.m. N.sub.F are measured automatically for one or more operating spindles, and a mathematical equation (N.sub.B /N.sub.F -1).times.D.sub.B =K representative of winding conditions for the roving is solved by automatic operation based upon the above measured values. When the value K thus obtained exceeds a preset control limit, the bobbin r.p.m. is decreased or increased automatically for correcting the value K towards its central setting for automatically correcting the winding tension of the roving.

  • Patent number: 4467592
Abstract: Described is a bobbin lead roving machine in which target r.p.m. values for the bobbin are found in advance for each of arbitrarily selected numbers of the layers of the roving taken up on the bobbin and are stored in a micro-compouter, there r.p.m. values are compared to actual r.p.m. values for respective ones of said arbitrarily numbers of the layers, and compensation is made automatically for any offsets resulting from such comparison for causing the r.p.m. of the bobbin to be within a control limit, in a manner that the take-up tension placed on the roving is kept constant during spinning since the beginning until the end of winding on the bobbin for producing the roving of uniform weight (with a constant weight/unit length).

  • Patent number: 4075732
Abstract: Cleaning device for preventing discharge of fly from a card into the atmosphere of a carding room by an air stream emerging from spaces between a plurality of flat bars. A resilient sealing member is disposed in each space between two adjacent flat bars in such a manner that two free side portions of the resilient sealing member are always urged against to each rib of the above-mentioned two adjacent flat bars. Each sealing member is held by a link member of the link chains which carry the flat bars, each flat bar riding on two spaced curved bars. A cover plate is rigidly mounted on each curved bar in such a way that the cover forms a duct with the above-mentioned flat bars moving along the working passage facing the cylindrical surface of the main cylinder of the card and with the above-mentioned resilient sealing members. Consequently such ducts are formed at the two sides of the card. At least one discharge pipe is connected to each duct so as to discharge the aforementioned fly from the card.

  • Patent number: 4023338
Abstract: This invention is applicable for carrying out the doffing operation of several types of fly frames such as a fly frame provided with an upper rail having a plurality of flyers in suspended condition and a mechanism for driving these flyers therein, and a fly frame provided with a spindle rail and a bobbin rail disposed at a position above the spindle rail in such a condition that the bobbin rail can be displaced vertically during the building motion. According to the doffing method of the present invention, when it is required to carry out the doffing operation, the bobbins containing a full yarn package are relatively displaced to a position free from the corresponding flyers and the engagement of the bobbins with the corresponding bobbin driving mechanisms is released. Next the bobbins containing a full yarn package are carried toward a longitudinal end of the fly frame in a space above the arrangement of the bobbin driving mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 3978552
Abstract: In a bale plucking machine wherein a fiber bale is reciprocally displaced between a pair of displacement terminals by a pair of conveyer means disposed with an intervening space therebetween and fiber tufts are continuously plucked from the fiber bale by a plucking roller when the fiber bale passes over the plucking roller, a method and device for supplying a fresh fiber bale on the conveyer means. When the thickness of the processing fiber bale has been reduced to a predetermined limit, the processing fiber bale is displaced to a waiting position formed on an extended portion of one of the conveyer means outside the terminal of the reciprocal displacement thereof, and the conveyer means are stopped. Thereafter a fresh fiber bale is supplied onto the processing fiber bale reserved at the waiting position. During the above-mentioned supply motion, the driving of the conveyer means is again commenced.
