  • Patent number: 7802860
Abstract: A liquid-ejecting apparatus includes a liquid-ejecting section that ejects a liquid onto an object, a liquid container containing the liquid and detachably attached to the liquid-ejecting section, and a depletion-determining section. The liquid container supplies a predetermined amount of liquid to the liquid-ejecting section by a pressure corresponding to the amount of ink remaining in the liquid container. The depletion-determining section determines depletion of the liquid if the amount of ink remaining falls below a threshold depending on temperature.

  • Patent number: 7681974
Abstract: A recording apparatus detects a leading edge of a recording material to be transported in a sub-scanning direction, and performs recording on a recording region of the recording material with reference to the leading edge. When a margin is formed at least at a leading end of the recording material, recording is performed on the recording region with reference to a center leading edge of the recording material. When a margin is not formed at least at the leading end of the recording material, recording is performed on the recording region with reference to one of right and left leading edges of the recording material that precedes in the sub-scanning direction.

  • Patent number: 7334869
Abstract: A printing system includes a head, a carry unit, a memory, and a controller. The head has nozzles and ejects ink droplets corresponding to pixel data from each of the nozzles. The carry unit carries a medium. The memory stores position information that indicates a relationship between a position of a dot to be formed by an ink droplet ejected according to the pixel data and a position of a pixel on the medium corresponding to that pixel data. The controller alternately repeats a dot formation operation of causing ejection of the ink droplets from the nozzles which move in a movement direction to form the dots in the movement direction, and a carrying operation of causing the carry unit to carry the medium, to print an image on the medium.

  • Patent number: 7270392
Abstract: A printing apparatus including a printing head for ejecting ink to a medium to carry out printing thereon, and a side-reversing member for reversing the sides of the medium that is printed by the printing head. A waiting time for drying, before reversing the medium with the side-reversing member, the ink ejected to the medium is set according to an amount of ink ejected by the printing head, and an elapsed-time from when the ink was ejected by the printing head.

  • Publication number: 20070097424
Abstract: A printer is communicatively connected to a host device. A first transmitter is operable to transmit an inquiry to the printer for acquiring a status of the printer, and to transmit a printing request to the printer. A detector is operable to detect the inquiry and the printing request from the host device. A printing section is operable to perform printing with respect to a printing medium, in accordance with the printing request. A second transmitter is operable to transmit the status to the host device in response to the inquiry. A power saving controller is operable to switch the printer between a first state in which the second transmitter is activated and a second state in which the second transmitter is deactivated. The first transmitter is operable to transmit the inquiry every first time period in a case where the printer is in the first state.
