  • Patent number: 8706352
Abstract: When an obstacle is sensed on a side of a vehicle, the future position of the vehicle after a prescribed time is predicted. When the predicted vehicle future position reaches a prescribed lateral position in the lane width direction, a decision to start a control is made, and the vehicle is controlled in a direction to prevent it from coming too close to the obstacle. If a state occurs in which the obstacle is sensed after not being sensed (i.e., it is first sensed), a decision to start the control is suppressed.

  • Patent number: 8251602
Abstract: An intermediate adapter includes a first terminal operable to be electrically connected to a lens detecting terminal provided on the camera body when the intermediate adapter is attached to the camera body, a second terminal operable to be electrically connected to a terminal provided on the interchangeable lens for providing a ground potential when the interchangeable lens is attached to the intermediate adapter, and a first switch interposed between the first terminal and the second terminal. The first switch is operable to electrically connect the first terminal and the second terminal when the first switch is on, and disconnect the electrical connection between the first terminal and the second terminal when the first switch is off. While the intermediate adapter is being attached to the interchangeable lens, the first switch is off to disconnect the electrical connection between the first terminal and the second terminal.

  • Patent number: 7987038
Abstract: A cruise control for a vehicle that detects an inter-vehicle distance to a preceding vehicle. A first vehicle speed instruction value is computed based on the inter-vehicle distance. Curve information of a curve in the road ahead of the vehicle is detected, and a second vehicle speed instruction value is computed for traveling on the curve based on the curve information. A final target vehicle speed is set based on the vehicle speed instruction values. When the vehicle travels through the curve while the first vehicle speed instruction value is larger than the second vehicle speed instruction value, the final target vehicle speed is set to a vehicle speed higher than the second vehicle speed instruction value and lower than the first vehicle speed instruction value. The speed of the vehicle is controlled based on the final target vehicle speed.

  • Publication number: 20090244360
Abstract: A camera system includes a controller operable to control operations of a camera body and an interchangeable lens. When supply of power from a power supply of the camera body is requested to be stopped, the controller performs control to adjust an aperture of the diaphragm such that an amount of light passing through the diaphragm is no greater than a predetermined value, and thereafter, to stop the supply of power.

  • Publication number: 20090066830
Abstract: An auto focus (AF) circuit includes a high-pass filter and band-pass filter having mutually different frequency characteristics. During contrast AF control prior to an actual shooting, AF evaluation values acquired by using the high-pass filter are used most preferentially in detecting the lens focusing position of a focus lens. In this way, the high-pass filter that emphasizes and extracts high frequency band components, which increase in image data when shooting a typical subject, is set to be used preferentially, thereby making it possible to perform high-precision focusing control with respect to various kinds of subjects.

  • Publication number: 20080033621
Abstract: A vehicle travel controller for a vehicle comprises a road branching detector configured to detect a branching of a road ahead of the vehicle and a setting device configured to set a target vehicle speed with respect to the road ahead of the vehicle. When road branching is detected ahead of the vehicle, after a primary speed reduction control for a first deceleration a secondary speed reduction control is performed for a second deceleration higher than the first deceleration with respect to the road with a lowest target vehicle speed among various roads at the branching.

  • Publication number: 20080018774
Abstract: To provide a single lens reflex digital camera that can find a focus as intended by the shooter even when electronic zoom is ON. An image capture device includes: a movable mirror to be entered into, and removed from, an optical path; an imager for shooting an object image and generating an image signal; a signal processor for zooming in on, or out of, the image based on the signal and generating a processed image signal; a focus sensor for sensing a focusing signal, representing a focusing state of a part of the image, based on the signal; a display device for presenting the image based on the signal; and a controller for controlling the generation of a focus frame to be displayed on the display device. The frame is displayed at a location on the image associated with that part of the image to indicate where the focus sensor should detect the focusing state.

  • Patent number: 7221646
Abstract: A method used for establishing an optimized path between two endpoints in a transmission network including subnetworks is provided. In the method, two endpoints and route selection elements are specified, a first route search is performed to search for route candidates each of which connects subnetworks by using data on network resources according to the route selection elements, and the route candidates is stored in a dynamic routing table. Then, at least a route candidate is selected as a selected route candidate according to the route selection elements, and a second route search is performed to search for a route connecting network elements in each subnetwork on the selected route candidate.

  • Patent number: 6097548
Abstract: A detecting mechanism for detecting a position of a zoom lens used in a camera, in which the same signal is output at each of a plurality of locations through which the lens passes, and in which it is possible to execute a resetting operation of the lens with a lesser mechanical load being exerted upon the lens at both ends of a region within which the lens is driven to move. The mechanism includes a position detection switch that outputs signals of "ON" and "OFF" alternately along a direction in which the lens is driven to move. The switch outputs the signal of "ON" when the lens is on one end of the region, and outputs the signal of "OFF" when the lens is on the other end thereof. When the switch is "ON" at time of the resetting operation, the lens is driven towards the other end thereof, and when the switch is "OFF" at time thereof, the lens is driven towards the one end. This mechanism prevents the lens from striking or hitting on each end of the region.

  • Patent number: 5969322
Abstract: In an apparatus having a film condition judging device which judges a film condition based on data obtained by reading out bar codes of a bar code disk equipped on a film cartridge, wherein the bar code disk is initially stopped at a predetermined rotational position in response to the film condition, signals which are output from a sensor, are detected at plurality of times during a bar code disk rotation, and so inclinations in changes of the sensor's output are detected, thereby an error signal is distinguished from a correct signal according to the inclinations in the changes. Further, a sensor's output as a correct signal is counted, then the used condition of the film is judged based on the counted value of the sensor's output. Thus, even if there occurs an unstable rotation of the bar code disk, which brings the error signal, the film condition can be correctly judged by one sensor.

  • Patent number: 5842061
Abstract: When an operation such as the operation of the shutter release button or the closing of the cover to the film container compartment is performed, any operation such as charging that was underway is stopped once and checking of the battery voltage level is performed with reference to reference levels, wherein it is determined whether or not any such operation was underway when either of said operations was performed, and if any such operation was underway, that operation is stopped once, and the battery voltage level is checked with reference to reference levels that are reduced by a preset amount. Consequently, an accurate check of the battery voltage level may be performed with regard to the battery voltage that had fallen due to the carrying out of such operation but that is rising to the original voltage level due to that operation being stopped.
