  • Patent number: 5039847
Abstract: Disclosed is an image processing apparatus capable of reading and processing both character data such as bar codes, optical readable letters and marks, and image data such as figures and tables by means of a single image scanner. The image processing apparatus has a parameter registration mode, a code addition mode and an image retrieval mode as operation modes. In the parameter registration mode, when a bar code corresponding to parameters related with image processing is read by the image scanner, a notification signal is outputted in response to completion of the reading. In the parameter registration mode, it is possible to determine priority to be assigned to either setting of the parameters through the image scanner or setting of the parameters through keys.
