  • Patent number: 9181937
Abstract: A displacement control valve includes an electromagnetic solenoid, a drive force transmitting body actuated, and a pressure sensitive portion having a pressure sensitive body that selectively extends and contracts in the movement direction of the drive force transmitting body in correspondence with pressure in a pressure sensitive chamber. A first valve body is arranged in the pressure sensitive body to adjust the cross-sectional area of an outlet passage. A second valve body is connected to the drive force transmitting body to adjust the cross-sectional area of a supply passage. The pressure sensitive body is movable in the movement direction of the drive force transmitting body in the pressure sensitive chamber. The pressure sensitive chamber is configured to communicate with the control pressure chamber. The pressure sensitive body is urged by the pressure in the control pressure chamber in the direction in which the first valve body closes.

  • Patent number: 8449266
Abstract: A control valve for a variable displacement compressor, in which the discharge pressure of the compressor introduced into a pressure sensing section applies urging force to a movement member, and a solenoid section applies, in cooperation with the urging force, urging force to the movement member depending on an input signal. The degree of opening of a valve body provided at the movement member is set according to the position of the movement member to regulate the rate of air flow in a communication path for interconnecting a discharge pressure region of the compressor and a compressor inner chamber. The suction pressure of the compressor is introduced into a control valve to apply urging force to the movement member, and communication between fluid having the discharge pressure introduced into the pressure sensing section and fluid having the suction pressure introduced into the control valve is shut off.

[MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS] This control valve (28) includes a diaphragm assembly (64) imparting a biasing force to a moving member (50) according to the pressure introduced into the pressure-sensitive part (40). The moving member (50) is moved by the biasing force to control the valve opening. The control valve further includes a solenoid part (36) which imparts the thrust of the diaphragm assembly (64) produced according to the pressure introduced into the pressure-sensitive part (40) to the moving member (50) through a diaphragm holding body (66) as a biasing force, and imparts a biasing force capable of controlling the valve opening in cooperation with the afore-said biasing force to the moving member (50).

  • Publication number: 20090035156
Abstract: [Problems] A control valve for a variable displacement compressor, where sliding resistance by movement of a valve is reduced as much as possible to stably and accurately regulate the rate of air flow, enabling a suction pressure corresponding to solenoid thrust to be maintained. [Means for Solving Problems] The discharge pressure Pd of the compressor introduced into a pressure sensing section (40) applies urging force to a movement member (50), and a solenoid section (36) applies, in cooperation with the urging force, urging force to the movement member (50) depending on an input signal. The degree of opening of a valve body (56) provided at the movement member (50) is set according to the position of the movement member (50) to regulate the rate of air flow in a communication path for interconnecting a discharge pressure region of the compressor and a compressor inner chamber.

  • Patent number: 6398516
Abstract: A control valve is provided to be mainly used in a clutch-less compressor of the type in which displacement of the compressor is varied depending on the inclination of a drive plate which varies depending on the crank pressure. The control valve includes biasing means that applies force to a valve body, a force transferring member that urges the valve body to forcibly open the valve, and a solenoid assembly to actuate the force transferring member. The valve remains closed when no electric current is supplied to the solenoid assembly, regardless of the crank pressure or the suction pressure. This facilitates minimum displacement operation of the compressor for a desired period of time and therefore makes the valve suitable for a clutch-less type compressor that is directly connected to an engine with a belt and/or a pulley.
