  • Publication number: 20190257378
Abstract: A method of controlling a brake system includes steps of: determining a motor time constant, estimating a motor temperature of a motor based on the motor time constant; estimating a position of component of the brake system; estimating a clamping force based on the estimated position of the component; comparing the estimated clamping force to a threshold predetermined clamping force value to determine if a sufficient clamping force has been created.

  • Patent number: 9783174
Abstract: A control device for an electric parking brake controls a motor for driving a friction member of the electric parking brake. The control device includes a processing unit which starts the motor in order to drive the friction member to a direction for placing the electric parking brake in a locked state; measures a current value of the motor in an operating state thereof; determines a cut-off current value from the measured current value of the motor according to a predetermined rule defining a correlation between the cut-off current value of the motor, by which a braking force necessary for the electric parking brake in the locked state is generated, and an increasing rate of the current; and stops the motor when the current value of the motor reaches the determined cut-off current value.

  • Publication number: 20150203079
Abstract: A piston is pushed out towards a rotor by an electric actuator. The electric actuator has a speed reduction machine, a ball type speed reduction machine, and a feed-screw device. A preload is imparted to balls which make up the ball type speed reduction machine by a compression spring to impart a resistance against the functioning of the ball type speed reduction machine, whereby the ball type speed reduction machine does not function immediately after braking is started.

  • Publication number: 20120205209
Abstract: A joining link, a strut, and first and second expansion levers constitute an expansion and contraction device. At the time of the braking, the proximal end portion of both of the expansion levers are mutually pressed from the opposite sides by first and second pressing members constituting a driving device. The reaction due to the braking is offset by the joining link portion, whereby a large force is not applied to the back plate or the like.

  • Patent number: 5286101
Abstract: An anti-lock/traction modulator which includes a hydraulic pressure passage circuit for an anti-skid control and a hydraulic pressure source circuit for a traction control in which an accumulator disposed at an inlet side of a pump for accumulating a predetermined pressure and which circuit supplies a brake pressure to the hydraulic circuit for the anti-skid control merely during the traction control operation. These circuits are connected to each other through a piston so that brake pressure is supplied to brake cylinders of vehicle wheels from the piston during the traction control operation.

  • Patent number: 5165764
Abstract: A braking hydraulic pressure control device includes an antilock control system and a traction control system in integrally combined form. A first valve unit for preventing liquid returning is included in a hydraulic pressure master path extending from a master cylinder to a wheel cylinder of a driving wheel, a second valve unit is provided for maintaining the internal hydraulic pressure of the wheel cylinder, a hydraulic pressure return path from the wheel cylinder is connected through a third valve unit to the inlet side of the first valve unit, and a hydraulic pressure auxiliary path for supply of a braking liquid is connected to the inlet side of the second valve unit included in the hydraulic pressure master path.
