  • Patent number: 10576852
Abstract: The vehicle seat is structured by covering the pad surface with the surface layer provided with the beading, which prevents the beading formed on the vehicle seat from being rubbed and worn out by clothing of the occupant who is getting on or off the vehicle under pressure applied by the thigh or the back of the occupant, and further prevents dislocation of the beading on the seat under pulling force applied by the thigh of the occupant who is getting on or off the vehicle. The pad has a groove in which the beading is embedded. The beading is embedded in the groove famed in the pad, and the surface layer for enclosing the beading core of the beading is bonded and fixed to the bottom surface of the groove.

  • Patent number: 10351415
Abstract: In order to solve the issue, during recessed-shape molding for vehicle seats, of requiring a suspension step, more work, members for suspension, and increased cost in a method using suspension, a recessed-shape molding method is provided for vehicle seats having a seat frame, a seat pad covering the seat frame, and a trim cover covering the seat pad. The seat pad has a seat pad groove. An adhesive sheet is sewn on to the rear surface of the trim cover by using outer stitching, the trim cover is put on to the seat pad, then a die is pressed on to the outer stitching from the trim cover surface, the trim cover is adhered to the seat pad groove, and a recessed shape is formed. As a result, a vehicle seat having simplified molding steps and effectively reducing costs can be provided, as well as a vehicle seat molding method used for same.

  • Patent number: 10220740
Abstract: In existing manufacturing methods wherein a bonded seat is formed by adhering a surface skin material to a pad made from molded foam, defects may occur from curing of the adhesive, such as reduced flexibility and a poor texture on the seat contact surface. In addition, the manufacturing steps therefor are complicated. In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a manufacturing method for a vehicle seat having a molded pad and a trim cover that covers the molded pad. The molded pad has a groove, and an adhesive is applied to the inside of the groove. The trim cover is pressed into the inside of the groove, and a steam nozzle is inserted into the molded pad from the surface of the molded pad opposite from the surface covered by the trim cover. Heat or steam from the steam nozzle melts the adhesive inside the groove so as to adhere the trim cover to the groove.

  • Patent number: 9751443
Abstract: A seat cushion of a seat, which can avoid creation of wrinkle or crease in an area of a trim cover element corresponding to a lateral side of the seat cushion, irrespective of a downward load applied to the seat cushion, thereby making it possible to maintain an outer appearance of the seat cushion in a good quality condition. In a surface of a recessed region of a padding forming a part of the seat cushion, defined flexible portions are formed to be flexed in an inward direction by a downward load applied thereto. Non-bonding areas are defined between the trim cover element and the flexible portions.

  • Patent number: 5425836
Abstract: A die for pressingly bonding a foam padding to a covering member of assemblage of a vehicle seat, the foam padding being of a one-side-opened type having a hollow therein, which die includes an upper die comprising a main die portion and a movable die member connected hingedly thereto. The movability of such die member allows easy securement of the foam padding to the upper die, as the movable die member is easily inserted into the hollow of the padding, thereby allowing further insertion of the upper die on the whole into within the padding. When pressing the padding against the covering member by use of the upper die, the movable die member is moved within the padding to a position on the same horizontal line with the main die portion, giving a pressure evenly both padding and covering member for effective bonding of them.
