  • Publication number: 20080102839
Abstract: In making a switching by hand-over, it takes a shorter time to redecide a radio base station of destination candidate to be connected that is capable of securing a required radio band, even in case the radio base station of destination to be switched to refuses the connection to a radio communication terminal. Therefore, the radio base station is configured to acquire the service band information of another radio base station, and notify the radio communication terminal of the radio base station information of a destination candidate to be connected to, based on the acquired service band information, in case of refusing a connection switching request from the radio communication terminal performing the hand-over.

  • Publication number: 20080014945
Abstract: When a station is connected via a connector to an AC adapter, a controller may detect the event of connection between the station and the adapter and drive a suppression signal transmitter to send a suppression signal to suppress a handover by the station. The station may include a communication controller to fix, upon receipt of the suppression signal from the adapter, a wireless access point to which the station belongs. The station may enter a handover suppressed state in which the station does not conduct a handover to belong to another wireless access point so long as the station is connected to the adapter and is receiving the suppression signal. This may suppress the excessive handover and secure stable communication quality.

  • Publication number: 20080013482
Abstract: The traffic of wireless communication between wireless access points can be lowered without requiring a change in the access point to which an associated station belongs, to thereby efficiently use a band for the wireless communication. For this purpose, (1) a station sends a packet, and a wireless access point and a wired access point receives the packet; (2) the wired access point stores an identifier indicating proxy transmission in an ACK packet and then transmits the ACK packet, and (3) the wireless access point confirms the proxy processing identifier of the ACK packet from wired access point and stops delivery of packets to the backhaul. The wired access point delivers the packet to a destination of the packet.

  • Publication number: 20080013513
Abstract: In a first control mode employed when a wired communication line is used as the backhaul, a wireless access point operates as follows. (1) The access point processes its own control packets for management by itself. (2) The access point communicates packets in which an information item for processing in a controller or a control server is added to user traffic from a client connected to the access point. (3) The access point conducts proxy processing for a control packet for management of a second wireless access point connected to the wireless communication side of the access point. (4) The access point compresses a control packet for management sent from a system controller to the second wireless access point to thereby achieve a frame conversion and then sends the packet to the wireless communication side. This resultantly reduces the traffic on the backhaul wireless communication line.

  • Publication number: 20070206538
Abstract: A controller manages a connection of a wireless terminal to a wireless base station, and provides a source base station with information for connecting the wireless terminal by way of an anchor when the wireless terminal moves between wireless base stations. When devices on both sides of an anchor connected communication are wireless terminals connected to wireless base stations in said same wireless communications system, a wireless base station device switches a path such that data is transmitted/received between the wireless base stations to which the wireless terminals are connected on both sides of the anchor connected communication without intervention of the anchor.

  • Publication number: 20070171884
Abstract: There is provided a wireless LAN access point capable of confirming and changing the setting using the IP communication for a target wireless LAN access point positively even when the IP address of the wireless LAN access point is forgotten. The wireless LAN access point, upon receipt of a probe request, transmits a probe response while at the same time starting to transmit a beacon frame required to be periodically transmitted. The wireless LAN access point starts the DHCP server therein at the same time that the process of associating the wireless LAN station is started. The DHCP server operates only for the wireless interface of the wireless LAN access point and the wireless LAN station associated by use of the maintenance SSID. The wireless LAN access point, upon complete association of the wireless LAN station with the local access point, leases the IP address to the wireless LAN station from the DHCP server in the particular local access point.

  • Publication number: 20050286454
Abstract: A power saving method in a wireless LAN system is disclosed for permitting a terminal station to promptly transition to a doze state irrespective of the presence or absence of data destined to the terminal station in a base station. Upon receipt of a PS-Poll signal from a terminal station subordinate to a base station for prompting a transmission of data destined to the terminal station, the base station transmits an ACK signal to the terminal station for indicating a successful reception of the PS-Poll signal. Further, the base station transmits a data frame including data destined to the terminal station when there is such data, or transmits an empty data frame when there is no data destined to the terminal station. Then, upon receipt of the data frame (including the empty data frame), the terminal station transmits an ACK signal to the base station, and then transitions to the doze state in which a transmission/reception function is made inoperative.

  • Publication number: 20050071682
Abstract: A layer 2 switch device, an authentication server, and a terminal device are connected to each other by a network, and a plurality of radio base stations are connected to the layer 2 switch device. A radio mobile terminal is authenticated by the authentication server. When a radio base station receives authentication result information from the authentication server, the radio base station sends the association information and authentication result information of the radio mobile terminal to the layer 2 switch device, which registers the received information in an authentication management table thereof. Subsequently, the layer 2 switch device manages the association information, authentication result information, and crypt key information of the radio mobile terminal in its own authentication management table. When the layer 2 switch device receives a re-authentication request from the radio mobile terminal, the layer 2 switch device refers to the information stored in the authentication management table.
