  • Patent number: 4616849
Abstract: A trailing link type beam suspension comprising a pair of left and right trailing arms, an axle beam fixed to one of the trailing arms and pivotably connected to the other and a pair of dampers provided between the axle beam and chassis. The axle beam is disposed in a position displaced from the axis of rotation of wheels in the back or forth direction of the chassis, and the dampers are disposed so that their axes pass in the vicinity of the axis of rotation of the wheel. A pair of coil springs are disposed coaxially with the dampers, respectively, between the chassis and axle beam. A panhard rod whose axis is positioned in the vicinity of the axis of rotation of the wheels is connected, between the chassis and axle beam, so as to carry a lateral load of the chassis.

  • Patent number: 4614255
Abstract: A hydraulic shock absorber for vehicles including inner and outer cylinders, and a casing defining an oil chamber therein. The oil chamber is arranged to be in communication with the interior of the inner cylinder. A gas chamber hermetically defined by an elastic metal membrane and having a predetermined volume of gases confined therein is disposed in the oil chamber. The arrangement provides desirable damping characteristics in a substantially low damping force range as well as in an inherent or preset damping force range.

  • Patent number: 4544180
Abstract: A trailing link type beam suspension suitable for use as the rear suspension of a front-drive type automobile. The beam suspension comprises a hollow axle beam having a left first end and a right second end to which left and right wheels are connected rotatably; a first trailing arm having one end fixed to the first end of the axle beam and the other end connected to the chassis; a second trailing arm having one end rotatably connected to the second end of the axle beam and the other end connected to the chassis; a stabilizer received by the hollow axle beam and having one end fixed to the first end of the axle beam and the other end swingably supported by the second end of the axle beam; and a link through which the other end of the stabilizer is connected to the second trailing arm.

  • Patent number: 4458917
Abstract: A suspension apparatus for a vehicle which comprises an axle beam for mounting a wheel on each end thereof, a Panal rod connected between the axle beam and the body of the vehicle, for supporting the axle, and a pair of trailing arms, each trailing arm being connected between the axle rod and the body of the vehicle, at least one of the trailing arms including bearings for connecting the trailing arms to the axle such that the trailing arm is rotatable about the axle. The suspension apparatus further includes a stabilizer bar extending parallel to the axle beam, the stabilizer bar having one end connected to the longitudinal middle of the axle beam and the other end connected to a trailing arm.
