  • Patent number: 5988034
Abstract: A blade mounting device is operable for mounting a blade on a drive shaft of a cutting tool which is moved in a predetermined motion for a cutting operation. The blade mounting device includes an operation knob mounted on a body of the cutting tool and adapted to be rotated by an operator. An actuation rod is mounted on the drive shaft and is movable with the drive shaft and rotatable relative to the drive shaft. A holder device is mounted on the drive shaft for holding and releasing the blade in response to the rotation of the actuation rod relative to the drive shaft. A connection member is rotatable with the operation knob and is disposed on the same axis as the actuation rod. A connecting mechanism is provided for connecting the connection member and the actuation rod to each other, so that the connection member and the actuation rod are axially movable relative to each other and are rotatable together with each other.

  • Patent number: 5709032
Abstract: To provide a chain stop device for an electromotive chain saw that can quickly stop the rotation of a cutting chain when a trigger member is released. The electromotive chain saw is provided with a chain stop mechanism operated with a solenoid. When the trigger lever is released, the solenoid is energized, such that a brake force is applied by a chain stop mechanism. The chain stop mechanism is composed of a brake shoe for engaging with or disengaging from the inner periphery of a brake drum, a Y-shaped resilient member for supporting the brake shoe, a swingable lever for slidably guiding the resilient member, and a clutch disconnected when depressed by two arms of the resilient member.

  • Patent number: 5680704
Abstract: A cutting chip suction device is adapted for sucking cutting chips produced when a work is cut by a blade of a cutting tool. The device includes a duct and a duct mounting mechanism. The duct has one end connected to a dust collector and having the other end formed with an opening. The duct mounting mechanism is adapted for mounting the duct on the cutting tool and permits the duct to be selectively mounted on the cutting tool in a first position and a second position on both sides of the blade. The opening of the duct in said first and second positions is positioned adjacent a cutting position where the work is cut by the blade.

  • Patent number: 5661909
Abstract: A blade mounting device is operable for mounting a blade on a movable member of a cutting member which is moved in a predetermined motion for a cutting operation. The blade mounting device includes a pair of claws mounted on the movable member and operable by an operator between a closed position for clamping the blade and an open position for releasing the blade. A first and a second thread mechanism are provided for converting the rotation of the actuation member into an axial movement of the actuation member relative to the movable member and for converting the rotation of the actuation member into an axial movement of the claws relative to the actuation member.

  • Patent number: 5622035
Abstract: The invention provides a quick blade attachment structure For quickly but securely attaching and detaching one or a plurality of blades to and from a mower. A rotary member (3) of a mower (1) includes a blade holder (4) and a support member (5) coaxially attached to the blade holder (4) to allow pivotal movement of the support member (5). A pair of blades (23,23) are supported by ends (9a, 9a) of rimmed pins (9,9) projected from a lower surface (4a) of the blade holder (4). A wave washer (16) is interposed between the support member (5) and a cap (17). When the rotary member (3) is assembled by a clamp screw (18), pressing force of the wave washer (16) allows the support member (5) to be rotated integrally with the blade holder (4). The support member (5) further has a pair of grooves (12).

  • Patent number: 5325140
Abstract: A camera wherein the photographed picture size can be switched and is formed mostly of a magnification variable finder optical system, a photographed picture size switching mechanism and a finder visual field frame switching mechanism. When the picture size is switched by operating the photographed picture size switching mechanism, the finder magnification will be altered to a magnification corresponding to the picture size through a finder cam as operatively connected with the operation and at the same time the finder visual field frame will be also altered in conformity with the finder magnification and picture size. According to this camera, for example, even if the picture frame becomes narrow, the finder magnification will be elevated by switching the picture size and further the image will be made easy to observe by expanding the finder visual field frame.
