  • Publication number: 20090080509
Abstract: To allow the user to specify easily a frame when video, of which the frame rate (or vertical scanning frequency) has been converted, is being edited. A data processor includes: a receiving section for receiving a signal representing first video in which a plurality of pictures are presented at a first frequency; an encoder for generating a data stream representing second video, in which the pictures are presented at a second frequency, different from the first frequency, based on the signal; and a writing section for writing the data stream on a storage medium. The encoder generates picture data about the respective pictures, first time information indicating presentation times at the first frequency, and second time information indicating presentation times at the second frequency, and stores the first time information, the second time information and picture data of the respective pictures to be presented based on the first time information in association with each other, thereby generating the data stream.

  • Patent number: 7421782
Abstract: A method is provided for efficiently manufacturing a high quality internal combustion engine piston having an annular cavity allowing for good circulation of cooling fluid. An annular groove is formed at the circumferential edge of the top face of a piston crown, or at the top of the exterior circumferential face of the crown, and an annular protruding strip is formed as a continuation of an edge of the opening of the annular groove. The protruding strip is bent in the direction of the opening of the annular groove by bringing to bear a pressure roller 11, while rotating the main piston body. Consequently, the opening of the annular groove is closed, whereby an annular cavity for circulating cooling fluid is formed so as to surround a pressure receiving recess.

  • Patent number: 6148136
Abstract: Among the recording/reproducing apparatus such as digital VCR, recording/reproducing and converting may be conducted using digital interface even if there are difference in the type of audio sampling and video compression. DV bus data is provided at digital I/F circuit 2, and A/V separator 101 separates the data into audio and video. The separated audio data undergoes the de-interleave processing at de-interleave instrument 102, and the rate conversion at rate converter 103. The rate- converted audio data undergoes the frame sequence processing and interleave processing at interleave instrument 104. While, the video data is delayed at delay memory 105, where the delay in the audio data processing is taken into account. These audio data and video data are multiplexed at A/V multiplexer 106 to output the DV bus data 3, which is recorded after having been applied with due processing for recording.

  • Patent number: 5371603
Abstract: A digital video signal reproducing apparatus is arranged such that when a low frequency component of a reproduced signal is extracted, the reproduced signal forms a reproduced image plane. When a low frequency component of a reproduced signal is extracted but a high frequency component thereof is not extracted, the low frequency component thus extracted is compared with a low frequency component of a previously or subsequently reproduced signal. If the two low frequency components are substantially equal to each other, the reproduced signal is concealed to form a reproduced image plane, and if not substantially equal to each other, the reproduced signal forms a reproduced image plane without being concealed.

  • Patent number: 5323232
Abstract: A decimation or interpolation filter is selectively used for decimation or interpolation of pixel data of a chrominance component of a video signal, In general, the chrominance signal and the luminance signal are closely related to each other and their edge pattern data coincide with each other when reproduced on a picture screen. A filter device for decimation or interpolation of the chrominance signal is arranged to perform a number of filtering actions depending on the presence or absence and location of edge pattern data. The present, absence, and location of the edge pattern data is detected using a luminance signal which is neither decimated nor interpolated.

  • Patent number: 5298990
Abstract: When dividing a video signal composed of horizontal H pixels and vertical V pixels into blocks of (m.times.n) pixels composed of horizontal m pixels and vertical n pixels, when the number of horizontal pixels or the number of vertical pixels is not equal to an integer multiple of m or n, respectively, the video signal is first divided into blocks of (m.times.n) pixels and sub-blocks of a smaller size. Then, a plurality of sub-blocks are put together to make up a block of (m.times.n) pixels.
