  • Patent number: 11781242
Abstract: A convection pattern control method includes: heating a silicon melt in a quartz crucible using a heating portion; and applying a horizontal magnetic field to the silicon melt in the quartz crucible being rotated. In the heating of the silicon, the silicon melt is heated with the heating portion whose heating capacity differs on both sides across an imaginary line passing through a center axis of the quartz crucible and being in parallel to a central magnetic field line of the horizontal magnetic field when the quartz crucible is viewed from vertically above. In the applying of the horizontal magnetic field, the horizontal magnetic field of 0.2 tesla or more is applied to fix a direction of a convection flow in a single direction in a plane orthogonal to an application direction of the horizontal magnetic field in the silicon melt.

  • Patent number: 7768884
Abstract: A dropout detection device, a disk reproduction apparatus, and a dropout detection method for detecting the occurrence of a dropout are provided. A low-pass filter outputs, as a signal LFENV, a low-frequency component of an envelope signal ENV generated by an envelope generation circuit, which represents an upper envelope of a first RF signal RF1 input from an RF amplifier unit. An adder adds a shift amount SH to the envelope signal ENV, and outputs a resultant signal as a shifted envelope signal SENV. A comparator outputs a dropout detection signal DET during a time period PT in which the signal LFENV is larger than the shifted envelope signal SENV. A detection control unit detects an amplitude ARF1 of the first RF signal RF1, and changes a frequency gain characteristic of the low-pass filter and the shift amount SH according to the magnitude of the detected amplitude AR1.

  • Patent number: 7684287
Abstract: A disc changer is provided which can perform a disc check in a short time which involves checking whether or not each disc loaded in the disc changer is reproducible in loading CDs on the changer. File system data is selected from management data of a selected disc and reproduced by a file system data selector. The selected file system data is analyzed by a file system data analyzer, and a condition of the analysis is monitored by a reproducible file detector. When a reproducible file is detected, the analysis is suspended, a result of a disc check is generated, and a next disc may be checked.

  • Patent number: 7673618
Abstract: A control system for an internal combustion engine, which is capable of estimating a property of fuel accurately even when the engine is in an operating condition other than idling. An in-cylinder pressure sensor detects an amount of change in pressure in a cylinder #1 of the engine as a pressure change amount. An ECU calculates an amount of heat released in the cylinder #1 as a heat release amount, according to the pressure change amount. A vehicle speed sensor, a crank angle sensor, and an accelerator pedal opening sensor detect load on the engine. The ECU estimates a cetane number of fuel based on the calculated heat release amount and the detected load on the engine.
