  • Publication number: 20090087164
Abstract: In playing back a content in a content recording medium, when two types of contents of the identical program are recorded on a content recording medium with respect to the capabilities of the device attempting to play back the content, that is to say, content A allowing video to be played back but not audio, and content B allowing audio to be played back but not video, playback is not possible even if it would be possible to play back the content using video data in the content A and audio data in the content B. In the content recording device, when a content is recorded on a content recording medium, a re-encoding condition list is recorded on the content recording medium. Further, the content playback device allows for playback suitable for the capability of the content playback device by selecting separately playback data that are suitable for the capability of the playback device from the re-encoding condition list.

  • Publication number: 20090051766
Abstract: An imaging device has a frame selector that performs frame removal processing for removing certain image frames from the image data such that groups of successive image frames remain at predetermined intervals. A monitoring center has a high resolution processor that uses received multiple image frames to perform high resolution processing. The frame selector has a motionless frame generator for generating motionless image frames indicating no motion compared with an image frame to be referenced. The frame selector inserts the motionless image frames into positions in the image data at which image frames have been removed by the frame removal processing to form image data to be transmitted. It is therefore possible to reduce the amount of data to be transmitted and display an acquired image at a high resolution.

  • Publication number: 20080235726
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a function to make a reservation for recording or watching with a simple operation during watching a program promotion, by adding a function to acquire the information required to make a reservation from the program promotion being watched. For the achievement of the object, a character recognition processing unit and an audio recognition processing unit extract keywords from video information and audio information contained in video information. Then, after the keywords are transferred to a keyword managing unit, a program information processing unit appropriately shows the program information to an operator. The operator can make the reservation simply by selecting the presented program information.

  • Patent number: 5850058
Abstract: It is an object to provide a computer system including a practical input device which can be operated with more natural sense. The present input pen which is used in combination with a tablet includes: a speech recognition unit for analyzing a speech sound, which is fetched in through a microphone, as a command or the like; an image reconfiguring unit for composing, after correcting image distortion generated due to inclination of the pen body for each image in the vicinity of a pen head which is photographed along with the strokes of the input pen by a CCD camera, the series of images into a general image; and a reference line generating circuit for lasing a laser beam with which a projected image utilized to calculate an angle of inclination is formed onto a face of an object of photographing. In addition, since an oscillation circuit generates a magnetic field corresponding to the data forming the general image on the basis of control by an a.c.

  • Patent number: 5436639
Abstract: An information processing system which comprises an integral input and display unit comprising a display which enables an object to be selectively displayed at one of a plurality of positions in a display area and a tablet having an input face overlaid on a display face of the display, the input and display face being disposed substantially horizontally, and a display whose display face is disposed substantially uprightly, wherein when an object is presented to a user in the display area of the display, a display position of the object is determined in response to at least one of a state of the user, a state of the input and display face, and a display state of the display, thereby enabling the object to be displayed at an easy-to-use position relative to the user's position.
