  • Patent number: 6124845
Abstract: A cursor control device is provided which has good operability and can reflect clearly an operator's natural motion in accordance with a qualified value (conversion coefficient). The cursor control device is constituted of an operation plate 5 with an operation surface 7, an operation pressure detecting detector with a pressure-sensitive sensor 3 arranged on the back surface of the operation plate 5 to detect a touch pressure by a control member, and an arithmetic circuit. The arithmetic circuit performs an arithmetic operation of both the coordinate position and the moving rate of the control member using a detection signal from the operation pressure detection detector, and the movement of a cursor based on a first qualified value and a second qualified value. The first qualified value is determined according to the movement and the moving rate of a coordinate position. The second qualified value is determined according to the touch pressure of the control member.

  • Patent number: 5911465
Abstract: A rear seat for a motor vehicle is attached detachably to a ramp member which is disposed on a floor panel such that the ramp member can slide on the floor in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Accordingly, when the rear seat needs to be removed from a vehicle compartment in order to make a large space or room for luggage or anything else, the ramp member carrying the rear seat thereon is drawn out of the vehicle. Then the rear seat can be removed to the outside using the ramp member. This makes the removal operation of the rear seat easy and can be performed without getting into the vehicle compartment and carrying the rear seat out of the vehicle compartment. Furthermore, it is also easy to load large sized luggage into the vehicle by putting it on the ramp member outside and then sliding the ramp member with the luggage into the vehicle compartment.

  • Patent number: 5724941
Abstract: An air conditioner control unit performs air conditioner malfunction detection when it detects idle control malfunctions no less than three times in the engine control unit. For example, it detects whether an evaporator downstream temperature is within a second predetermined range which is computed based on a theoretical value. If such temperature is not within the second predetermined range, the air conditioner control unit determines that there is a malfunction in the air conditioner. Moreover, if it is determined that there is a malfunction in the air conditioner, the air conditioner control unit determines if such malfunction affects emissions or fuel consumption. Then, based on the result of such determination, the engine control unit executes malfunction display.

  • Patent number: 5655185
Abstract: The present invention has an object to provide an image forming apparatus and method which enables an operator to easily adjust to the desired printing density. A paper feeding roller is driven in timing along with a registration roller. The irradiation of a modulated laser beam is started, a developing high-voltage is changed from "0" V to a predetermined voltage V1, and the voltage is changed to V2 at other timings. By sequentially changing the voltage in this manner, the printing densities from laser modulating data d1 to d10 are adjusted and printing in different densities can be performed.

  • Patent number: 5617730
Abstract: If an engine is stopped with a switch of an air-conditioner being on, such state is memorized. When the engine is started after dead soak, a compressor is driven automatically until a crank shaft has driven several revolutions to discharge liquid refrigerant from the compressor without liquid-compressing noise. When the engine starts, the compressor is deactivated until the air-conditioner switch is turned on by a driver.
