  • Patent number: 5404275
Abstract: A rack comprises a plurality of lower guide rails arranged side by side to form the bottom thereof, and a plurality of upper guide rails arranged side by side to form the top thereo, for accommodating a plurality of electronic modules such as modems. Each of the modules includes a rectangular casing, lower and upper side edges of which are rounded or chamfered. The lower and upper guide rails are in vertical register with each other, respectively, and are vertically spaced from each other by a distance corresponding to a vertical height of the case. Each of the lower and upper guide rails has a pair of ridges coextended in parallel with each other and defining therebetween a guide path for complementarily and slidably receiving the corresponding side of the casing, whereby an outer width of the guide rails can be generally equal to a thickness of the casing due to the rounded or chamfered sides thereof.

  • Patent number: 5243218
Abstract: A cooling structure for LSI or the like devices to be mounted in a small size electronic apparatus housing. A main printed circuit board has mounted thereon first electronic devices with low heat generation; at least one auxiliary printed circuit board has mounted thereon a second electronic device with high heat generation, which is connected with one edge of the main printed circuit board (1) through a flexible printed circuit tape (5); a holder (6) fixed on the main printed circuit board (1) for resiliently supporting the auxiliary printed circuit board (2) at a distance above the former when the latter is turned over and is above the main printed circuit board (1) by bending the flexible printed circuit tape (5) so that a heat conductive surface of the second electronic device (4) is exposed outside.

  • Patent number: 5140501
Abstract: A mechanism for insertion and withdrawal of a printed board unit (20) to and from a shelf (10), by which the printed board is inserted in the shelf with less force and locked therein after the completion of the operation, an the complete insertion can be confirmed by a click noise and a mark. The mechanism includes a lock arm (26), which is fixed to the printed board unit (20) at the base portion thereof and has a flexible tip, a lever (25) pivoted to the printed board unit (20) and provided with a cam surface (30) for driving the lock arm (26) for insertion and withdrawal of the printed board unit (20), and an aperture (17) formed on the shelf (10) and engageable with the lock arm (26) when the same is in a fixed position. The lever (25) occupies predetermined angular positions, both when the printed board unit (20) is completely engaged to a connector and when the printed board unit is withdrawn therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4496057
Abstract: A rack for mounting a communication apparatus. The rack comprises a pair of right and left vertical side frames and a plurality of block-mounting plates for mounting at least one block which houses at least one printed board. The block-mounting plates are rectangular and are longitudinally disposed between the right and left vertical side frames. The at least one block is mounted on the front face of the block-mounting plates. The upper and lower portions of the block-mounting plates are folded frontward so as to form an upper reinforcing rim and a lower reinforcing rim. The right and left vertical side frames have an L-shaped horizontal cross section. The folded edges of the L-shaped right and left vertical side frames are arranged inward so as to face each other. The block-mounting plates have securing members along the left edge and the right edge thereof. The securing members project backward and have an L-shaped horizontal cross section.
