  • Patent number: 7548357
Abstract: Aspects of the invention relate to a method of processing images capable of performing natural saturation enhancement having a balance between color components with a small amount of calculation is provided. The image processing device may be arranged in an image display device or may be a device for providing display image data to the external image display device to perform the saturation enhancement of the input image data. Specifically, saturation information can be extracted from the input image data to determine a saturation enhancement amount. In addition, a color component to which the saturation enhancement is performed can be extracted from the input image data. Further, based on the determined saturation enhancement amount, the saturation enhancement for each color component can be performed. Here, for the predetermined color component, the saturation is enhanced after the saturation enhancement amount is adjusted.

  • Patent number: 7471343
Abstract: The invention provides an image processing device that reduces flickering on a screen by simplifying the structure of an image processing device. The image processing device can include a statistical value calculating unit, a correction parameter calculating unit, and an image correcting unit. The statistical value calculating unit can generate statistical value data. The correction parameter calculating unit equalizes the statistical value data using the low pass filter whose time constant changes according to whether change occurs in the scene, thereby generating the correction parameter. A look-up table is generated based on the correction parameter.

  • Patent number: 7202879
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing device that does not convert image data into a grayscale value which may cause defects in the displayed images, such as flickering or fluctuation, when performing color reduction/pseudo-halftone processing to convert the data into data which can be displayed on the color LCD panel (20). Alternatively, the frequency of occurrence of such a grayscale value can be reduced. The present invention thereby prevents a decrease in the display quality of an image output apparatus in advance by processing data supplied to the image output apparatus, such as a color LCD panel.
