  • Patent number: 6330120
Abstract: A resilient support member 5 is provided between a lens holder 2 and a base member 4 to resiliently support the lens retainer 2 with respect to the base member 4. A pair of auxiliary damping members 10a and 10b extend along the length of the resilient support member 5, and a viscoelastic material piece 11 is provided between the two auxiliary damping members so as to connect them to each other. Various modes of connection can be achieved, and the freedom in the tuning of the damping effect is increased for reducing spurious resonant vibrations so that an adequate damping effect can be achieved. Because the part to which the viscoelastic material is to be applied is placed in a wide space remote from the lens retainer and the base member, the work of applying the viscoelastic material is simplified.

  • Patent number: 5442433
Abstract: Each identification mark consisting of hologram or diffraction grating having a unique diffractive property which can be detected with optical identification means is formed on a seal, and, by affixing such seals as a combination and reading them, the analysis or forgery of each identification mark is made highly difficult. Since the possible modes of combination and the possible number of combinations can be freely and easily selected, high levels of expandability, identification power and handling facility can be achieved at a relatively low cost. This system can be applied to various articles such as information storage cards including magnetic cards, and keys. By using the system for verifying the authenticity of the article, an effective prevention of the counterfeiting of the article can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 5438403
Abstract: Provided is a system for identifying the authenticity of an article which is reliable, and would not restrict the freedom of design. An identification region is defined on the article for identification purpose. The identification region comprises a light reflecting layer which is adapted to transmit visible light and reflect light of a certain wavelength other outside the visible light band with a certain diffractive property. Therefore, the identification region is hardly visible to human eyes, and this not only discourages an attempt to counterfeit the identification region but also would not affect the external appearance of the article. Further, the visible light which has passed through the reflecting layer and reflected by the surface of the article itself or an underlying layer is prevented from reaching the light detecting device so that spurious noises which may disturb the identification process can be eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4859098
Abstract: A paper feeder for a printer which is adapted for feeding both continuous printing paper and cut sheet printing paper. A second frame which may carry the platen supports the rear end of a first frame which in turn supports the tractor feeder in such a manner that the first frame can be rotated backward from a first position adapted for feeding continuous paper to a second position adapted for making a room for mounting a paper guide to the printer. If the tractor feeder is adapted for pushing continuous paper towards the platen, continuous paper can be kept on the tractor feeder even when the second frame is at its second position.

  • Patent number: 4822184
Abstract: A paper feeder for a printer having a platen and a tractor feeder which is provided with a pin belt having pins projecting from upper and lower surface of the tractor feeder, and the tractor feeder can be selectively placed either one of a first position in which the paper feeding plane of the paper feeding pins of the lower surface of the tractor feeder aligns with a tangential direction of a lower part of the platen and a second position in which the paper feeding plane of the paper feeding pins of the upper surface is aligned with a tangential direction of an upper part of the platen. Preferably, the tractor feeder can be held at a third position which is intermediate between the first and the second position and a middle plane between the upper and the lower paper feeding plane align with a radial line of the platen.
