  • Patent number: 6439095
Abstract: A paper cassette is provided with a first guide groove and a second guide groove. In these guide grooves, first and second cutter blades are respectively arranged. The first cutter blade is separated from a guide face of the first guide groove by a length L1. A recording paper is moved along the first guide groove under a condition that an edge of the recording paper abuts on the guide face. In this way, a right margin of the recording paper having a width L1 is cut off by the first cutter blade. Similarly, a left margin of the recording paper is cut off by the first cutter blade. Top and bottom margins of the recording paper are cut off with the second cutter blade by moving the recording paper along the second guide groove.

  • Patent number: 6431358
Abstract: A thermal printer includes a thermal printer component for image recording to a thermosensitive recording sheet. There is a loading opening through which the thermal printer component is supplied with the recording sheet. Plural guiding projections position the recording sheet in the loading opening. A recording sheet package includes a packaging case for containing a stack of plural recording sheets with looseness. The loading opening is loadable with the packaging case. A package outlet is formed in the packaging case for passage of each recording sheet, and set directed toward the thermal printer component. Plural cutouts are formed in a periphery of the packaging case, and receive the guiding projections. Blocking portions of a blocking frame are disposed inside the packaging case, and close the cutouts. The blocking portions are shiftable inwards from the cutouts by the guiding projections.

  • Patent number: 6397006
Abstract: A head module contains a head motor, a reduction mechanism, and an optical head. The optical head is disposed behind an opening through which printing light is emitted toward an instant film. Both sides of the head module are provided with pinion gears rotated by the head motor via the reduction mechanism. A chassis is provided with rack gears respectively meshing with the pinion gears. The head module is reciprocated in a sub-scanning direction by the head motor. During the reciprocation of the head module, the printing light is emitted from the opening in accordance with image data to expose the instant film. A driving mechanism for the head module does not exist outside a movement range of the head module so that it is possible to downsize an instant printer using this head module.

  • Publication number: 20020031342
Abstract: A digital still camera has a print head for projecting printing light beams onto a mono-sheet type instant film. The instant films are stacked in a film pack which is loaded in the digital still camera. Since a processing fluid pod on the leading end of the instant film is thicker than a trap portion on the trailing end of the instant film, the rear surface of the film pack is inclined to fit the shape of stacked instant films. An LCD unit is incorporated in a pack loading door of the digital still camera. The LCD unit is inclined to fit the inclined rear surface of the film pack, so a vacant space between the film pack and the camera body may be decreased.

  • Patent number: 6344869
Abstract: A color thermal printer a conveyor for conveying a color thermosensitive recording sheet along a conveying path. A thermal head thermally records a full-color image to the recording sheet being conveyed. A fixer lamp applies ultraviolet rays of a predetermined range of wavelength to the recording sheet being conveyed, for optically fixing the recording sheet. In the thermal printer, a printer casing has a small height, and includes a front panel oriented vertically. An insertion opening in the front panel is adapted to insertion of the recording sheet before the recording, and ejection of the recording sheet after the recording. An air inlet and an air outlet are formed in the front panel. The insertion opening is disposed between the air inlet and the air outlet. An air passageway is disposed in the printer casing, and communicates from the air inlet to the air outlet via at least a portion of the conveying path.

  • Publication number: 20020012532
Abstract: The printer built-in electric still camera has a pack chamber for loading an film pack, and a pack chamber door for opening and closing the pack chamber. On an inner face of the pack chamber door, plural of film pressing devices are attached. When the pack chamber door is closed, the film pressing devices enter in a pack case from access openings formed on the pack case. The film pressing device has a frame and two pressure levers. The frame has a channel-shaped form and its bottom face is fixed on the pack chamber door. First and second shafts are attached to side plates of the frame at a distance, and ends of first and second pressure levers are rotatably fitted on the shafts. The first and second pressure levers are rotated by bias of a strong spring and a weak spring. Another ends of the first and second pressure levers press the film unit in the pack case.

  • Patent number: 6318918
Abstract: A thermal printer is loaded with a recording sheet package. The recording sheet package has a packaging body, which contains a stack of plural recording sheets. A loading engaging cutout is formed in the packaging body, and when the packaging body is set in an acceptable orientation relative to the printer, is engaged with a loading guiding projection of the printer, and allows mounting the packaging body on the printer. When the packaging body is set in an orientation different from the acceptable orientation, the loading guiding projection inhibits the packaging body by interference from being mounted on the printer.
